5.0 out of 5 stars "Borland Pascal from Square One" is the best!, February 7, 1998

This book was perfect. Jeff Duntemann didn't tell us what to do, but how to do what we wanted. It is the perfect "bible" for anyone seriously interested in PASCAL programming. I'm a student of programming, and I never leave home without it. His reasoning and real-life examples along with a good sense of humor make it an excellent programming book even if the concepts are the only thing you need. I still use it for C++ to look up his analogies.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best programming book I've read!, August 26, 1996
By A Customer
This review is from: BORLAND PASCAL FROM SQUARE ONE (Borland Bantam) (Paperback)
I'm a student programmer and was having trouble understanding the techno babble in all of my other text books. I took it upon myself to go out and buy a book that would explain programming to me in terms I could understand and relate to. I'd read Visual Developer (PC Techniques) magazine and knew that Jeff Duntemann was one of the editors and enjoyed reading his articles. I found this book written by him and took a chance. As the title says, it does take you from Square One and moves you easily through Pascal programming, step by step. Mr. Duntemann uses his wit and good sense of humor to keep you wanting to read and learn more. He has actually found a way to make learning computer programming fun!! I would definitely recommend this book to any beginning or intermediate programmer whether you are a student or just wanting to learn at home on your own.
