i bought this the other week because i wanted a system that not only sounded great but gave depth and a better experience when watching movies or sporting events. bose definatly delivers. UFC 58 was intense! the living room in my place is about 20 feet by 15 feet so these 5 speakers jammed into that area makes everything sound awesome. i ended up finding out why a lot of people dont like it though. one, because of the price and two, because of the space they put the system into. my friend purchased the same system after i told him to. hes a rich dude so he has a huge living room(about 30 by 25) the system didnt sound as good (obviously) due to how much space is in his living room. so i told him to pack it up, take it back, and get a custom system.
you really have to put into account the size of the room that you are going to be putting your surround system into. they ARE small speakers(which is a great feature for most) but they wont deliver the way you might want if you have a huge living room. purchase them, if you dont like it....take it back, amazing concept, i know. but most shouldnt be disappointed though.

Lets face it, you want to spend your hard earned money on something that will sound great and last for a long time. I agree with most reviewer that the price is too high, but I think the quality is great. I actually have a 6.1 receiver that hooks these speakers up and the additional Bose center speaker. I've had these for 3 years and they worked great, even after 3 different moves across the country. I have almost everything hooked up by fiber optics to my receiver for the best possible quality. Trust me their is a difference between, optical and analog quality and it obvious whenever I listen or play something on TV. Even still to this day when I watch a movie or play a video game I swear I'm hearing something outside or in the house, but its just the sound from the speakers.
Also if you know someone in the military, they sell Bose at the PX/BX(Post/Base Exchange). I got mine there and it was cheaper and tax free.

Like what the other guy said if your room is around 20x15 and you want to keep speakers 'virtually invisible' this is for you. You buy it, try it if don't like it return it.I have been trying it and so far it's delivered upto my high expectations.Not only does it sound sweet and I feel like sitting in a live concert, or movie theater it cost me less than here also;) In B Js the package (AM15 series 1 silver+samsung HT DS610B receiver+5cd/dvd changer) for 950.I earlier thought samsung receiver/dvd player must be trashy but it's working okay and I could wait till HDMI-adaptive Onkyo (TX SR604 in particular) comes down to 200s (its right now 400).In one word I'd describe my HT as incredible.bose delivers! (for what it is known)

The cubes sound decent but the overall package is lacking because of the subwoofer. The first thing I did is replace the subwoofer with an $800 12" JBL which requires running your speakers directly into the receiver. So then more speaker wire is required. When it was all said and done, not including the receiver, I paid over $2000. A bit pricey for something that only sounds decent but that is how to get the best out of a bose system. I bought my mom the Definitive Technology 60.6 for $400 and it outperforms my acoustimass 15 in an obvious way. I hope I can save someone out there some money. Don't buy into the hype that bose is the best.

I own this from last one year. I did research from Infinity Beta series, Atlantic Technology, KEF, M&K ...many others. They sound great but they are bulky. If you want similar performance and nice look (Virtually invisible) yes, Bose is the way to go. I hooked up this to my Yamaha RXV 1500 THX Receiver. It shakes.
This is definitely NOT Radio-shack quality.

I HAVE HAD MY BOSE AM 10"s THE SYSTEM PRIOR TO THIS ONE ALTHOUGH THEY LOOK IDENTICAL, SINCE 1996 AND I MUST SAY THE SOUND ON MY SURROUND SOUND THEATER SYSTEM STILL MAKES ME JUMP WHEN I PLAY A DVD WITH EITHER D T S OR DOLBY 5.1 ........ BOSE ALTHOUGH THEY MAKE VERY EXPENSIVE SYSTEMS REALLY OFFER A PRODUCT THAT WILL LAST YOU THROUGH THE YEARS. AND IF YOU READ CNET OR ONE OF THE OTHER ONLINE REVIEWERS YOU WILL NOTICE HOW ALL THE OTHER WANNA BE SPEAKER MANUFACTURERS ONLY COMPARE THEMSELVES TO BOSE, AND NO ONE ELSE I WONDER WHY????????

I bought a set of these for my sister-in-law because she was convinced Bose was the best. For comparison, I had installed a $300 multimedia computer speaker system for her son a few months prior. the $300 system put these things to shame. if you do a little research, you learn that bose is basically radio shack quality speakers with nike level marketing. i suggest you do your research before paying for a fancy ad campaign.

Please do not listen to bose bashers...this system offers great allround performance for music and movies and does not occupy half your room.
At the current sale price of 899...this is a third the price of other good speakers.........GO FOR IT

This Bose system costs three or four times as much as other competing systems. I used the word competing because other systems are in no way comparable. The sound quality from this sytem is simply unbelievable. If you buy these speakers, you will be moe than satisfied with them.

I dn know what some guys are looking. This system is man just incredible. What you want is quality sound and save space. This is what this system has. I know this much that this system scares my neighbours with terible sound effects. It has both high quality sound and high sound. Price is bit high. Well you need to scracth your pocket a bit to hear it. :)
