Convenient to install but...,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: BOSS 9.2HRT 9.2-Inch Widescreen TFT Monitor One Universal Headrest with Pre-Installed (Tan) (Electronics)
I bought these because I did not want to cut into my factory headrests when I was installing my rear seat entertainment. I got these because they seemed like a good deal, and the picture seemed on-par with other offerings available by other manufacturers. The resolution of these is 1132 x 234 btw. Also the size was quite a bit larger than the usual 7" monitors.
The installation is very straight-forward in there is one cable that leads out, and there is a breakout with all of the A/V + Power connections. There are two major problems with these headrests: 1) The mounting posts do not fit securely or slide smoothly, so the headrests can get off horizontal very easily. 2) They are not stable. The headrests have a built-in tilt feature, but there is no way to lock the position when you have it set. This could be a problem in an accident if the headrest were to give. Other minor issues, are the picture quality is acceptable, but not great. My head unit has a 800 x 480 screen resolution, and it does everything. These things just need to display video. Better picture quality, or processor would have made a world of difference. The smoothing is terrible on live action movies, but is tolerable on kids cartoons/video (which is the main reason I got them). |
