Voice Coil – Kapton

Until about 1970, all speaker voice coils were wound on paper tubes. The output of an amplifier feeds directly to the voice coil, which gets hot when driven hard, putting the paper tubes at risk of burning up. Kapton, which remains stable up to about 725 degrees Fahrenheit, became an alternative to the paper tubes. It can be made thinner and stronger, as well as take far more heat and mechanical stress. Kapton also has excellent dielectric properties.

Cone – Poly Injection

Polyurethane, a substance categorized as a polymer, is a resilient and durable manufactured material that can take the place of paint, cotton, rubber, metal, or wood in thousands of applications across virtually all fields. It can be hard like fiberglass, squishy like upholstery foam, protective like varnish, bouncy like rubber, or sticky like glue. In the specific case of our cones, this material allows for maximum give that produces great sounding speakers that will last a long time.

Surround – Butyl Rubber

Butyl rubber is a synthetic (man made) rubber and is valued for its chemical inertness, impermeability to air, and ability to endure or resist exposure to many types of weather fronts. Butyl rubber has applications from sports equipment to automotive parts, the medical industry and more. In this product they are used for the surrounds that connect the cone to the basket. Just like chewing gum, the butyl rubber surround in our speakers can take a significant amount of abuse without coming apart.

Its addictive LOL !!
Antwan Clark
At 4 ohms, the amp puts out 1800 watts RMS total to the two speakers that should be able to handle 2300 watts RMS total - together (1150 each).
John Kennedy
A decently priced sub that sounds really great.

OK, so I'm 24 and I've had subwoofers in my cars ever since my first one. I've had Sony's, Rockfords and Alpine Type R's. Most recently have been my Rockford's. The car they were in, I wrecked. I transfered the subs to my new car, and needless to say they were ruined. So being strapped for cash I began looking at new subs, coming across the Boss Phantoms.

I have just one 12 right one (to test it out) hooked up to my Rockford p3001 amp, putting out 500 RMS at 2 ohms. WOW. Just this one speaker, hits harder than my Rockfords, and for fifty bucks? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I'm highly impressed with the response, punch and loudness of the speaker. The only thing that I could say is towards probably about 40hz and down, they get unresponsive. They're rated to 25 hz I believe, but this isn't really a big deal to me. Other than that, I can't wait to throw another 12 in my trunk and let these bad boys rip my car apart. It's honestly, disgusting.

I bought this subwoofer hoping it would live up to its specs and let me just say, WOW. I wired it to 2ohms tho i perfer4ohms, like always you have to break in your subs to get them to perform good and not blow them, at first it handled about 800rms now after a week im pushing 2000-3000 rms yes i have had it checked, and i have been playing it in long term cycles of about 4 to 8 hours at that rms. I bought 1 with a ported box and im getting a easy 110db and thats even with half of my sub box not being filled cuz its a dual port, so i cant wait to buy another one i highly recomend this subwoofer JUST TAKE IT SLOW lol i have heard fosgates and kickers and pyles and many others i would buy this sub over any other brand anyday, it kicks as hard as when i was running my old system with 2 15's 1 12 and a 10 all pyle, only thing i dont care for on this sub is at 2500rms its barely moving but is super loud u wont see it coming. The shipping wasnt great the delivery guy slammed it on the porch upside down thank god it didnt hurt it, for any starter bassheads ill help answer any questions you have on how to set up and run your system.

Voice Coil: 4-ohmSpeakers Maximum Output Power: 2000Vehicle Speaker Size: 15-inch
ok i had to post a review for all the haters. these speakers can not be beat for the price. dont be dumb and hook them up at 1 ohm. drop 1200 watts into them on a 4 ohm hookup and watch your car fall apart. i have 2 of these hooked up to a pyle mono 4600, pushing 1200 watts per speaker at 4 ohms. the box is a little small for them, so my lows are suffering, but that will be fixed soon. ported box, being ran by a kenwood deck. a friend of mine has 2 2k mephis 15s, and i drown him out when put next to each other. for a system that cost barely over 300 bux, its amazing. amp was 180 or so, since everyone thinks pyle is crap, and the speakers from boss that everyone thinks is crap. i think the biggest problem people have with all these new, cheap super powered woofers is they seem to love dropping them to 1 ohm. i blew my first 2 boss like that, same as these just the 12 inchers. got the 15s in and hooked them up at 4 ohms, with gain and bass boost at max, i cant throw enough at them. slammin at full volume and they'er barely extending. saddest part of it is for my 300 bux im makin people with 2000 dollar systems wish they had rethought the purchase. 5 star review for boss. hook it up right and you'll get many many noise polution citations.

These are amazing subs even the chaos 10 inchers. I know why these get bad reviews. People buy them and throw max power at them before the speaker can break in. I bought 2 of these for my brother inlaw put them in a ported box and let them break in for a few weeks at 8 ohms per sub bridged down to 4 ohms on 1200 watts he has the loudest system in town. People break in your subs

I needed a new sub and wanted to try and see what i could get for under 100$. Well at 60$ this one sure fit the bill. All though i find the picture and watt claims on the coil dust cover to be tacky , the overall design is ok looking. I have it in a sealed box with an Alpine 500 watt mono pushing it at 2ohms and it sounds great. Only question is how long it will last but for the last few weeks it has exceeded my expectations. ******update***** I have had this sub for more than 6 months now and it still exceeds my expectations. I blast this thing 7 days a week and it just takes it. I have been into car-audio for over 25 years and spent tens of thousands of dollars on systems....This sub is more than worth the money. I would buy it over and over again. ****UPDATE**** I have had this sub for a year or so now and I beat the hell out of it everyday. I would buy this speaker again hands down. My alpine 500 watt mono amp is not stressing this sub even at full volume, and I think it can take more power. Very happy with purchase ****UPDATE**** Its over, I blew the poor thing. Its my fault. I got a new amp and dumped 1300 rms into it. It lasted about 3 min. lol Was a good value though and if you have a few hundred watts you cant go wrong with it.

If you're thinking about purchasing yhis brand of subs or speakers lets just say you will not be let down with their performance.I just got these Subs last week, and installed them in the trunk of my 04 Kia Rio.I know who would own a Kia, but let me tell you they sound incredible, and for around 100.00 bucks thats a deal.I'm running the pair of 12's on a Rocford Punch 800a2 apretty old amp but it gives those Phantoms a Beating, and they can take it.I have heard bad things about these cheapies, but if you install correctly and and have good amplification you're good to go.I'm even running these in a free air application, and they don't even specify that appliacation.I hope if you buy these you enjoy them as I do.I'm sure they'll sound even better after break-in...
