From the Manufacturer
The Bostitch 48-Inch Clamping Box Beam Level is the world's first clamping level. This level offers the distinct advantage of hands-free operation while positioning wood to a level or plumb setting. It can accommodate 2x lumber (1-1/2-Inch) as well as 4-Inch dimensional lumber (3-1/2-Inch) for a wide variety of commercial and residential construction applications including framing, roofing, decking and fencing. With a box beam body constructed from aircraft-grade aluminum, this level incorporates the patented MaxEdge Bridge into its design for a continuous marking surface. An additional benefit of this feature is an open line-of-sight to the center vial for reliable measurement every time. It also features a heavy-duty profile for added stability. The clamping level offers solid acrylic block vials for impact-resistance and long-term accuracy. Unlike many competitive products, Bostitch uses an epoxy to connect the vials to a structural column located on the bottom of the block so that the level continues to perform reliably over time, despite the rigors of day-in/day-out use.
