I've been a self-employed contractor for 22 years. I have all bostitch pneumatic tools, some of them from 1990. They are typically tough tools. That said, this gun is a piece of junk. Don't waste your time. Some engineer decided to put a safety on the gun. Any misalignment and the safety has to be toggled off. A big waste of time. The entire crew was going to toss it. Do yourself a favor and get a brand that you can slide along the tongue and shoot. Also go with an 18ga staple for the laminate floor. The 1" 20ga staple is inadequate...and don't even bother trying it on bamboo. Oh yeah...the adjustable base plate is a plastic joke. If you put repeated pressure on it to seat the material it creeps out of adjustment. Very poor bostitch.

I returned this flooring stapler after it jammed on every third to fourth shot. I had previously ordered a factory rebuilt 2025K stapler from a different supplier. It would not even fire. The supplier replaced it with another rebuilt unit, and it would not fire. That is when I decided to purchase the new unit from Amazon.

After two rebuilt units and one new unit, I think I have given Bostitch as many chances as I can afford. I would stay away from this unit.

I received the nailer which I ordered. Although it was brand new, the model was out of date; ie, some improvements were made in later models. Therefore, when I tried to use the gun, it always jammed. I had to rent another gun to get the job completed. I have the gun being rebuilt by a Bostitch dealer. Hopefully, it will be covered under warranty services. If not, I'll be out another $100 in repairs. I am frustrated with the situation. My warning to everyone is: If the deal seems too good to be true, you're probably going to be taken to the cleaners!
The only bright spot will be: If the repairs are covered by the warranty and the nailer works, then I'll have a nice gun to install hardwood floors in the future. But I cannot recommend purchasing Bostitch Nailers on line. If you do purchase online, you're probably going to receive an out-of-date model.

I have used Bostitch staplers in the past and have always had good luck with them however this one is a piece of junk. It misfires as you get down to the last third of the staples in the gun and staples get hung up every other shot. The only way to make it work again is to release the slide as if you are going to load another row of staples and then slide it back down to re-position the staples. It's easy to see that the problem is too much "slop" or play in the mechanism that pushes the staples down into the pin that hammers the staples into the hardwood. I don't know how this ever made it past their engineering department. Tighter tolerances would most likely have corrected the problem.
To top it off I am now past the 30 day window to be able to return it directly to Amazon. I must now take it to a Bostitch repair center and have them look at it and try to fix it. More time out of my day which is more money out of my pocket. I have already bought a replacement as I needed to get the project completed. Save your time and go buy a "POWERNAIL 20 ga. Cleat Nailer". It is infinitely better. It costs about $120 more but believe me you will make that back in time and frustration in the first job.
Lesson learned here - Buy tools from local stores with better return policies even if it may cost slightly more.

I do a lot of flooring. I have the bostitch floor nailer as well. This is smaller, lighter, tool, with a thinner gauge fasteners. It is great for exterior pieces of flooring. For example with large nailers, the clip doesn't give you as much clearance so if you don't have one of these you have to toe-in quite a few pieces with a brad or finish nailer. The tinner gauge fasteners also keep flooring-tongues from splitting. The downside is stables do not allow flooring to shift as much during heat/cold expansions and contractions. For this reason I prefer to use this tool on the exterior of rooms and pieces that need extra fixing if for example you are working on a warped floor staples in conjunction with nails can prevent squeeking and creaking. Another benefit of this over a nailer is you don't need to hit it with a mallet, you just pull the trigger so there is less wear on the tool. So this tool takes a lot less effort to use than a floor nailer. My petite wife can easily use this, and help when we are doing flooring with the big floor-nailer. Also this is much cheaper than a floor nailer in terms of cost. Bostitch makes great air tools. They give this a 7-yr warranty, but you wont need it if you oil the tool before each use.

Hope that helps make your decision!

If you enjoy frustration, delays, and working harder than necessary, the Bostitch LHF2025K stapler is for you! I ignored the 1 star reviews when I ordered it from Amazon for two reasons: the first is that I thought that given the Bostitch name and my experience with their other nailers that the 1 star reviews were a fluke (surely it will work for me, right?), and the second is that my Bruce engineered flooring specified a 20 guage staple (which I can't obtain locally). The Bruce/Armstron instructions actually recommend this very stapler. Well, this was a mistake. Just like other reviewers noted, this stapler misfires, jams, or dry-fires every 3rd or 4th staple. Unjamming them isn't too difficult per se, but installing flooring is labor intensive enough with a stapler that WORKS. Despite my flooring manufacturer's recommendation, I was able to buy an 18 guage Bostitch EHF1838K yesterday at my local big box store. It is a DREAM to use compared to the LHF2025K. I would highly recommend that as an alternative. Sturcturally, I don't know why the 20 vs 18 guage matters to the manufacter, but as the installer it is night and day difference. I just now put the LHF2025K back in the UPS drop-off thanks to Amazon's EXCELLENT return policy. I will not miss it. It deserves less than 1 star. Shame on you Bostitch for such a shoddy product.
