Product Description

BOSU Sport Balance Trainer 55cm has a sleek, compact design that allows for easy transportation and storage.

Amazon.com

Appropriate for everyone from elite athletes to kids to weekend warriors trying to stay in shape, the Bosu balance trainer helps you strengthen and coordinate several major muscle groups, including the muscles you don't see. The Bosu targets your core muscles--the muscles around your abdominal and back area--while you perform a host of different workouts, from squats and bicep curls to lateral shoulder raises and hip extensions. As a result, you not only gain strength, trim, and tone, but also improve your balance and coordination along the way. In addition, Bosu training helps strengthen the mind, with thoughtful movement that requires the participant to not only be physically involved, but also "here and present" with the mind fully engaged. By combining physical and mental focus, Bosu training will boost your performance across a wide continuum of activities, including sports, recreation, and daily tasks.

The Bosu balance trainer--which measures 55 cm and comes in blue--comes with a foot pump and an exercise manual.

Its a good excercise bosu ball at home.
Sharen L. Richardson
The manual had quite a few exercises in it, but you can also go to Utube where you can find plenty of videos on Bosu workouts.

If you are considering this product, just go for it; it's good for you and a good product to boot.

As others have commented, the contents of the box don't really match the description. I got a pump, but no fill tip; I did not get the DVD. HOWEVER, I had a pump from my large exercise ball and an extra seal tip, and didn't need the DVD. In that case, this BOSU was half the price of another one, and I calculated that I could get along without the peripheral stuff. The BOSU itself is club quality, and was quickly pumped with my exercise ball foot pump. It did include an exercise booklet that gave me more ideas than I've gotten at my gym (where I use one of these).

so: if you really want to spend another $60 for a pump you already have, and a DVD you don't use, get one of the other products.
as an aside -- this was shipped in an ENORMOUS box, but on Amazon Prime, that didn't matter to me.

I was a little concerned that the cheaper version of the Bosu wouldn't be as good as the pro version that I use in physical therapy. But personally, I don't see a difference between the two. This is the cheapest price I've seen for the Bosu, pump, and DVDs. I love my Bosu!

I've used the original bosu ball in gyms and at my physical trainer's office- so I figured I would order one for my personal home use. I was a little scared after I inflated it and found it wasn't the same one I had using- but it works just as well and actually has a bit cleaner of a design (no large rim at the edges).

If you don't know, the bosu ball is a half exercise ball, great for all kinds of squats, lunges, and balance training. You can turn it around and do pushups on it, or sit on it and do ab workout. Just about anything you can think of, you can do it on the bosu ball and make it that much more exciting. Everything from yoga to strength training can be done on the bosu and it suddenly becomes that much more core-intensive.

I love it and am so glad I've brought one home! :)

Tim Ferris, in his new book The 4-Hour Body, recommends a Bosu ball for sit-ups. Got this ball because it's the cheapest. Does exactly what I need it to do.

What can I say? It is a Bosu but it doesn't have the DVD descibed. Hopefully Amazon will correct this. Other than a blue vs black base, it works as well as the original that you see in the clubs.

The base is different from the gym kind. It is the same width and the same balance exercises can be done on it. I didn't like that the bottom of it was a rubbery material coating and it sticks to your shoes when you stand on it.
