Jolly Good Show!,

Terry-Thomas was one of those great comedy character actors I grew up watching and enjoying in so many delightful British movies. I'd often wondered what he was really like, and this fine biography really delivers. It's bright and breezy like its subject, with plenty of funny stories and witty asides, but it also provides a truly fascinating insight into a man who practically reinvented himself like a British Gatsby, and it also deals very sensitively and movingly with the latter years when Terry battled with Parkinson's Disease. One other thing that came as a complete surprise to me was Terry's early days as a pioneer on British TV at the BBC - it turns out he tried things that inspired many later performers and producers. All in all, an absolute treat for fans of the man we know and love as 'T-T', and an excellent biography.
