This is better than an original it replaces. The original was Stainless Steel top and Porcelain bottom, but the Porcelain on Porcelain is better.

This was bought as a replacement for the original broiler pan and rack that came with my built in ovens. The design is nearly the same, though the original sets were not porcelain. So far, the new sets have worked about the same as the original sets in cooking, but appear to be a little easier to clean, for now. A previous porcelain rack that I purchased was easy to clean in the beginning but became more difficult in time. I am hoping the same does not happen with these new ones. So far so good.

My mom had a broiler pan similar to this that came with her oven. I recently bought a house that included an oven without a separate broiler pan. I searched and searched for a pan that was like hers. Finally, I found this one.

With this, I can move the oven rack way up and set the pan on the rack. Then, turn the oven to broil. That's great for cooking fish fillets or steak. The grease will drip into the bottom section of the broiler pan.

I also like to use this pan when cooking ribs. I put a little liquid in the bottom section, then put the broiler grill-top on top. (It has holes or slats where grease can drip DOWN or steam can come UP.) Put the seasoned ribs on the top and cover with foil. If you add a little liquid smoke to the liquid, you can have some good smoked-tastin' ribs! ;) Cook 'em low and slow... at about 300 degrees for 3 hours. When you use the pan for something like this, you would put the rack in the MIDDLE of the oven.

After cooking, carefully remove the foil and add sauce if you like. Turn the oven up and put them back in just long enough to make the sauce caramelized... YUM.

Product made of inferior quality and was shallower than the one being replaced.Having received this product it became evident why it was probably cheaper than some other broiler pans offered for sale by other eBay merchants.

Like some of the other reviewers I had a hard time getting this clean after the first use. I guess it is functional but I wish I could get it clean.
