At the end of a day, parents are washing a lot of things in the kitchen. Dishes, glasses, counters, baby spoons, the floors, and of course the baby bottles. And at night, we're also pretty tired. It is then when you start to appreciate the baby bottles that have very few pieces.

These bottles have a lot of individual pieces, so washing them takes more than twice as long as the more simple designs. I had a few that were 4 pieces, and those already felt like too many to clean. But these ones take the cake, they have 6 distinct parts to clean. And that's at least 3 too many.

In the end, those have become my favorites (2 pieces bottles). If you don't want to spend extra time washing baby bottles skip these.

Removing the cleaning out of the equation, these are good bottles:
- BPA free
- Good quality plastic

Our baby doesn't experience any less gas using this complicated system, versus a normal 2 pieces bottle setup. So all the additional cleaning is not worth it in my opinion.

We've had so much trouble finding good bottles! The nipples are too fast or too slow, there's not enough air exchange, or they're just cheaply made. But we love these!!! They're very well made, the level 2 nipple is perfect for our 3-month old, and it somehow pulls air into the bottle while he maintains suction of the milk. I'm not even sure how. I call them the magic bottles!

We had tried Tommee Tippee bottles and the valve is in the cap but he feeds while laying at a 15-20 degree angle, so no air was getting in. He'd have to let go every few gulps so air could go in. Also, their slow nipple was way too fast for him - we ended up naming them the volcano bottles.

We have been using Playtex Drop-ins, and these are very easy to clean and nice and portable. However, I was worried about their seeming flimsiness and whether he was getting chemicals from the thin liners. (BPA free, but how is flimsy plastic affected by warm-hot fluids?) He was using the slow nipples for a long time, and I finally got some medium flow ones. They were slower than the "slow" ones! (I tried the fast nipples too, but they were way too fast.) Because of this, I think the integrity of the Playtex nipples must get broken down over time?

I'm so glad we got these. The speed of the nipple is perfect, so now he can drink way more in a feeding before getting tired or giving up. And they have 5 different options instead of the usual slow-medium-fast that everyone else has! The bottle is very sturdy, and comes with an insert so you can take these with you with no spillage. The bottle is also slightly contoured and easy to hold. They also come with an outer cap to keep the nipple clean.

My son is getting close to 5 months and he was still using the little bottles with the slow flow Enfamil disposable nipples. I wanted him to graduate to something a little bigger and faster. I first tried the Doc Brown's bottle. No dice there. He HATED that bottle and it made him spit-up more than any bottle I tried. The next one was the Playtex and that one he didn't like either. I'm happy to say that he adores this bottle. In fact, he gets irritated when I take it away even if it's empty. He breastfeeds and bottle-feeds 50/50 so maybe since this nipple has more of a simulated breast feel he took to it faster.

I bought the Eco ones because they're 6 bucks cheaper. Not sure what the difference is between the Classic but they seem fine to me quality-wise. I didn't find all the parts to be too many either. It just seemed normal for a vented bottle and not nearly as bad as Doc Brown's. One disc fits into another disc and it sits on the mouth of the bottle. That's about it. I don't count the neck and the nipple as a separate part because almost all bottles have that. So really, it's just two extra pieces to me. Everything seems to be really solid and well made, too. They also come with discs that let you seal the nipple off for travel to prevent leaking.

I'm very happy with these and we'll probably be in the long haul with them.

We had been using the medela bottles and slow flow nipples, but after being at daycare all day my son would prefer the bottle because it was so much quicker. With these bottles he goes easily from breast to bottle and back. Plus it has decreased his gassiness

He was unable to breast feed properly. We bottle fed from about 3-4 weeks (dropper fed until then, except for the first couple days of trying to nurse him).

Our baby isn't fussy so I can't judge whether or not he'd like other bottles.

We have an assortment of Born Free bottles - started with 2, added 2 more, then finally a 6 pack.

We have pretty consistent problems with leaking. It may be that the different gaskets have different tolerances. Some fit into the white piece very easily, almost dropping in. Others require some pressure so they seat.

I think the bottle manufacturer knows about the leaking problem - they even say that if the bottle leaks you tightened it too much. This should dissuade most people from questioning the actual bottle, directing doubt to the end user. I have a rudimentary understanding of torque, assembly, etc - I've successfully assembled car engines, regularly fix things that require a balance of torque and tightness (plumbing stuff for example), and install relatively fragile (and torque limited) carbon fiber parts.

However, after a lot of experimenting, I can't figure out what causes the bottles to leak. Loose gaskets, tight gaskets, change nipples (there seems to be two shapes, one with a flared base, one with a squared off base, and I think they're not supposed to be different), the bottles still randomly leak.

So this morning our son had two bottles, 6 ounces at first, another 4 ounces later. Both bottles leaked enough that I used a burp cloth each (cloth diaper) to absorb the leaked formula, and his onesie is soaked for about a 3-4" radius below his chin.

As my wife said, "Honey, they just leak." Bottles shouldn't leak. It's a basic premise for having a closed system.

I'd recommend looking at other bottles.
