Not a Naxos production per se,

This review is from: BRIAN: Symphonies Nos. 20 and 25 (Audio CD)
Only in one obscure location on the page describing this recording does it say (warn!) that this is a CD-R, not a true audio CD, and nowhere on the page does it say that the traditional liner notes are totally missing. So, if you don't mind either of those conditions, it's a fine recording of interesting music. As for myself, if I'd wanted a CD-R made on someone's computer, a blurry color copy of the original cover, and zero liner notes, I'd have considered finding a friend with a copy they would loan to me. Naxos, truly you are not well served by licensing out your material for amateurish reproduction like this. The only CD purchase experience I've had that was worse than this one was a similar reproduction from Archiv music who similarly licenses out-of-print classical recordings, but creates an even worse product that looks like a grade-schooler made it on their home computer and printer. No more CD-R's for me, ever! Instead, I'll happily buy a used CD and spend $1 to have it polished if necessary.
