5.0 out of 5 stars My Son's Favorite Brio Car
My son has his fair share of Brio & Thomas trains... and this is his favorite (which makes sense given his love of fire engines). The little fireman is great, as is the wagon with the hose and ladder.

I agree with the other reviews... the lights are nice, the siren is just loud enough, and it flashes / rings for just the right period of time (maybe 4-5...

1.0 out of 5 stars very disappointed
I bought my grandsons the light and sound fire engine and ambulance from Brio. Neither one had a light or made any noise!!! I didn't bring batteries along as they were supposed to be in the toys. They were a big flop. This is NOT what I expected from Brio.

Some Brio cars are plastic and some are wood... this one is plastic, but it's high quality & very durable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Fire Truck Around, September 25, 2002

My 18 month old toddler picked this fire truck out himself. He loves the siren, and so do I. It's very muted, but loud enough for him to enjoy. The pieces are very durable. There is so much to do with it - from the posable figure, to the movable ladder, to the fire hose that unwinds, and, of course, the siren.

My son loves this so much we take it on car trips with us because it keeps him entertained for so long at a time.

My 2 1/2 year old son looooooves this toy. As other reviews mention, the siren is not obnoxious and lasts just long enough. My son carries his train around with him all day and shows it to everyone he meets.

Brio products are far superior to other train sets and are a whole lot of fun.

5.0 out of 5 stars great addition to your train table for a toddler, July 10, 2002

If your toddler loves lights and noise, this is a great item to add to the Brio Fire Station. The fire truck included with that station does not come with the trailer with ladder and hose. My 2 yr old son loves to play with the fireman climbing the ladder, using the hose etc... Its noisy but not unbearable, and after about 6 months of play, i've not changed batteries or anything. And he likes having 2 firemen for the station too.

Gave this to my two year old for his b-day and he wouldn't put it down. He actually lost it after the 2nd day of getting it and I am looking for a replacement-but won't pay the 99.99 they are selling it for. I bought it for 7.52 plus s/h only 1 month ago. I have googled it and everyone is out of stock. From what I understand, Brio is making changes and won't be supplying companies until next year.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very cute item!, March 23, 2006

If you have a train lover who loves fire trucks as well, be sure to grab this guy! It's adorable and the siren isn't all that loud. We actually have two of these trucks and it's really neat to have along with the brio fire station. Just a cute addition and something that's loved in this house. Highly recommend!

We purchased a train table for our 20-month old grandson for Christmas. Even though this Fire Engine is obviously not a train, it was a big hit. The shipper through Amazon was great - very thorough and kept us up-to-date on delivery. It was even delivered before the expected date. Brio is a quality toy and was exactly what we expected. Our grandson loved/loves it, he incorporated it into his train layout, the sound is not overwhelming and it's loud enough not to be annoying. Looking forward to purchase other Brio trains/cars, etc.

2.0 out of 5 stars expensive plastic Brio made in China, April 25, 2011

Looked better on the picture than in real. Note that this little toy is made of plastic, made in China (with Brio tag)...too expensive...this price would be adequate if it was made from real wood in Sweden. I was disappointed and returned the item. PS. I cannot judge how interesting/fun is light-and-sound feature because I did not open the package.

This was a really cute toy bought for our grandson. He picked up right away about the siren and seemed to love it.
