Like others I purchased this from Sam's club and we got it hooked up no problem. Less than a month and a half the fan has stopped working. There so far is no customer support, you can and have to leave a message. I'm ready to take it down and return to Sam's as this is ridiculous. I'll update if I hear anything more.

Never heard back from the customer service department but was able to take it back to Sam's. After my return went to Lowe's and got one which works wonderful!

I've worked on it for two days and could not get it to work. Followed the instructions step by step. The lights flashed on for a few seconds and then went out and it has worked since. It looks great, just doesn't work - Don't buy this. Waste of money.

Update - April 15, 2014
Called customer service, they were very polite and helpful. The company ended up sending a new receiver and remote. The fan now works perfectly. The remote is still very flimsy. Over all not a bad value, but will stay with the better made/brand names for any additional ceiling fan purchases.

We purchased the Gatlinburg ceiling fan for our bedroom and liked it so well we purchased two more for the other bedrooms. It was a breeze to install and it looks great. We highly recommend this ceiling fan to anyone and it has a remote control which makes it easy to turn on and off from bed. That's a plus as well.

I purchased a 52" Gatlinburg ceiling fan, model# 32280 by Prominence Home from Sam's Club on September 3, 2013. The instructions incorrectly state how to connect the wiring from the home receptical to the fan and could potentially cause physical harm or product damage. On page six of the owners manual it states to connect the white wire (common) from the receiver to the supply White wire and then goes on to say connect the other White wire (common) from the receiver to the White wire from the fan. The problem is that one white wire from the receiver is labeled "common" and the other white wire from the receiver is labeled "AC". This can be very confusing, and could result in an improper connection. Also there is a schematic like diagram on the same page depicting a red wire from the receiver connected to the black wire at the home receptical. There is no mention in the text about connecting a red wire. This is very confusing and misleading.
I tried contacting the support number several times 1-877-706-3267 during normal business hours, but there was only voicemail, and I have not received a return call. Update: I tried calling again as I write this and a lady named Anabel answered the phone stating that they are telling consumers the correct way to wire the fan as they call in for support. I personally think there should be a product recall on this item to correct the installation manual.
The fan quality does not seem to be on par with other well made ceiling fans. You do get what you pay for most of the time, and I paid $70 at Sam's Club. It did work after installation, but the craftmanship and materials do seem lacking. I submitted a report to the CPSC. Hopefully there will be a recall on the instructions before someone gets hurt.

Yeah, this product was at my local Sam's for about 70 bucks. The exact same thing. So, it's clearly not worth 200 or even 150 and it might not even be worth $70. I have installed Hunters in the past and having a hook to hang the motor while making the electrical connections was a big help. Another fan I installed, not by Hunter, did NOT have it. I will let you know if this is any good after I make my connections.
