I purchased this book because I owned a semi-auto model of the 1919A4. Lots of great information and its way cool to see a picture of your grandfather displayed in the book!

Finally a historical book written by an author who has first hand and pratical knowledge of subject. A US Army machine gunner writing about US Military machine guns....that is few and far between. The book is chalked full of insights, stories, and facts about all the Browings used in US service. Outstanding!

Mr. Goldsmith's work in research, documentation, and putting it together in print is nothing short of AMAZING! The details that surround the Browning Machine gun, it's origins, troubles, and eventual acceptance by the Ordinance Corps is documented completely and in amazing detail.Pictures of concept guns, one-offs, and prototypes augment the complete photographic record of each and every variant of the BMG series machine guns. Dolf is an amazing source of knowledge, and this is merely volume I of a 3 part series! |
