Great sight!,

I bought this sight a couple of years ago for my AK47 and it has performed very well. It stays zeroed and I haven't even had to change the battery yet. The red blue and green and adjustable brightness are really nice depending on how the lighting is where you are shooting. I put flip up caps on mine because I kept knocking off the stock ones. It is very good quality for the money. Highly recommended.

FYI -- The BSA red dot sight pictured, including the customer photo, is not the sight for this model # HMRGBD30CP. Check this model with your search engine first. The 2 biggest gripes I have with this sight are:
1. There is some type of built in hood for the front optic which makes it pretty much impossible to add flip caps. This sight comes with the OEM cover but very inconvient. 2. The Red,Green,Blue dots do not have crisp dots. They are more oval than anything. This could be attributed to the quality of the optic. This claims to have a retail of $99. Not true. The list price is something like $40. I am ordering a different model. This was one of the few busts I have had using Amazon. Dang it!

I bought this scope to mount on my old Crosman pellet guns.
I wanted to see just how good they shot and my old eyes aren't good enough for open sights anymore. Since I am partially color blind the three colors interested me. I thought at least one color would work for me. I was right and pleasantly suprised at how acturate these old guns are at the short distances they are designed for. Scope is very clear and sharp and the dots are very bright. A+

normally i would have given this sight 4 stars but thee one star review was so ridiculous that i felt obliged to raise the rating, i mean who gives a damn that one of the dots is oval! that is reason to give it 4 or 3 stars, not 1. yes, one of the dots is to bright in the night and a different one is too dim for the day, but there is a color for each. red is the brightest and is made for the day so you don't use it during the night or it will be too bright, and blue and green are made for when it is getting dark, so if u use it during the day then its hard to see. my only complaint is that the three settings on each of the colors are absolutely no different, but that's why there are different colors. all in all, i find this to be a great product that was better than i expected, so if your looking for accuracy and you don't want to spend more than 75$, this is the sight for you!!!

Out of the box the scope appears to be reasonably well built. Attaching it to my rifle was a little tricky as it's difficult to straddle the rail, get the screws into the rail grooves and hold the scope at the same time. It's more of an issue with frustration than anything else.
The first time I took my rifle with the scope mounted out to the range I decided to move the scope forward on the rail. The screws, made in China, stripped. I contacted CS at BSA and I received another set and mounted the scope again. The third time I took the rifle out the scope began to malfunction, as in the dot disappeared between rounds. This is a .22, so there isn't a lot of recoil in this firearm. I thought the batteries could be giving out so I purchased two new ones and hoped for the best. No improvement. Here it is 11 months later and I've fired all of about 50 rounds. I can't shoot the rifle without the dot! I contacted CS again and I was going to have to ship it at my cost and enclose a $10 check for return shipping charges. I told them I would put the $20 toward a better scope rather than dump more money into their product. We'll see what they have to say. I wouldn't recommend this scope to anyone.

The 3 colors feature is a nice addition, but the red is the only usable color IMO.
The unit is large, feels well made and over the last 6 months has been accurate and reliable.

What a piece of junk.... It sure do look perty but functionaly a bomb. No paper work came with it, scince this was my 1st time trying a Red Dot Scope, I was a little bit intimedated. Well it's not rocket science (or is it?). After some fumbling I got it mounted on my Ruger 22 target pistol...and off to the range I went. I locked and loaded and positioned myself using my shooting rest. I had set up two targets one on the right and one on the left. I took careful aim at the one on the right and fired a 3 round volley. I saw no holes in my target but the one on the left had a nice shot pattern in the center of the target. I figured I better do that again to make sure I was aiming at the right (right) target. Sent 3 more rounds. Now there were six holes in the left target (nice grouping though). Looks like it needed a windadge adjustment. I attempted this for the next hour. Shots were still all to the right. I gave up and brought it to my local gun shop. They bore sighted it for me. Back out to the Range the next day. Perfect... I couldn't be happier. And THEN the LED went out. I toyed with it and it came back on. I fired again and it went off. OK so back home to the bench... The Red and Green LED's were only on when it was off its click Position on the dial. Only the blue was working at the click position. Ok so atempted to correct that problem (It did not work). I called my gun shop (where I should have been in the first place) and have ordered one that they recomended. And am ready to send this thing back (of course I can't find the return slip, so will prolly just through it against the wall.
As others have stated it was not the same as the one shown in the picture but I was able to find this model on an internet search also a video kinda givin it a thumbs up. The only way to find out what battery it took was to remove the battery. They did not even include that much information (not that I am gonna buy it a battery). I was warned about buying a BSA anything but I guess I needed to find out for myself. I did.. I wont buy anymore of their stuff for sure. Hope this helps somone from making the mistake I made but if your like me prolly not.. Oh well.

Very sad to see it is not the pictured item. What can i say about this. I have it on an AK but wasn't 100% happy with it. It works and can take the power of the AK round but was bummed when i got something else.

It seems to work fine for me, even in bright sunlight. But as noted by others, it is not the same one as pictured. I will probably still order another one for another rifle.
