I have to admit that I cheat a little with BSN's protein shakes (either the DESSERT or Syntha6). I usually drink the vanilla flavors, but mix them in the blender with a few ice cubes, 40 calorie almond milk, and about a cup of puffed wheat cereal. Some friends from Miami introduced me to the puffed wheat shakes - they ROCK! I have one every day for lunch when I'm home. I used to take a shaker and some DESSERT on the road with me, but it's pretty grainy and not cold enough when you use a shaker to mix it. I eat very little meat, so this is my favorit way to get some extra protein. I have tried other brands, but for me, this is the best.

This stuff is a little pricey but for what you pay I feel you get a great product. I mix 2 scoops with water and it mixes so thick you almost have to chew it. Eaten with a whole grain granola bar or w/e It keeps me full for 2-3 hours and its only 260 calories. An interesting side effect is that it not only keeps me full but totally kills my apatite, after i drink a shake no food looks appealing for a good hour or two afterward. 1 bottle doesn't last long but with a price tag between 15-20 dollars I can afford to order a new bottle every week or two.

I first bought this protien powder at the gym I go to. It was TWICE as expensive. Found out you could get it on Amazon. Like I said, half the price, arrived in just days and it is delicious. I use a magic bullet filled with half ice, covered with skim milk, 1 scoop of protein powder and a banana! Absolutley delightful and sooooo good for you! Highly recommend.

The chocolate is awesome. I have tried no less than 20 protein "drinks/powders/ready to drink" for use after bariatric surgery (a lifetime regimen of protein supplementation means great taste is essential).
The only other recommendation I make is Pure Nutrition - Whey Protein Isolate (All Natural) Pure Vanilla Bean 2 lbswhich is a great alternate for when you want to add fruit to make a fruit smoothie.
I did not find an aftertaste in either supplement.
I could list the brands, but I think you'll get it. I've tried the 3 oz tubes of 45g concentrates which are handy for on the go, but generally too sweet. I've tried the ISO brand in various forms which are OK for pre and post surgery when it has to be clear liquid. Most of the canned and ready to drink are palateable for occasional use, but again are handy for on the go.
These two are the ones for daily use at home when you have access to a drink mixer.
I use Almond Milk and ice- crush to a thick consistency, then add more almond milk and the powder and mix for 1 second or so. It is a cold delicious milk shake. I avoid milk and soy products so that is why the almond milk.

Please be aware -even though this is not listed in the product description- this product contains wheat and gluten. If you need to be gluten free, go with a protein powder that does not have glutamine peptides(wheat derived) and go with a powder that has l-glutamine instead.

She likes it! I bought this protein powder specifically for my girlfriend who hadn't liked any other powders so far. I read some reviews here and other sites and decided it would be the best solution for her. I've tried it a few times myself and think it's very tasty. It has a thicker texture like a slightly watered down pudding. It's actually pretty decadent and is a great craving suppressor if chocolate is your thing. Try it!

I have tried a lot of protein drinks and this is my favorite. I have a breakfast shake every morning. One of my favorites is a Starbucks frappachino lite with protein powder and ice blended to shake cosstacy. Yummy!

I personally have issues with protein drinks--not that I'm against their purpose, but a protein shake tastes like a protein shake no matter how you dress it up. But this (we order the Chocolate Fudge) isn't too bad, especially when one perfects making the shake to his liking. In fact, I'm willing to try other flavors as there seems to be quite the variety of possibilities.

As for doing its job as a protein shake, I nor my husband have any complaints. This is comparable to all the other protein shakes my husband has used and tastes much better.

First off this protein tastes awesome! IT does not have a ton of calories and the added bcaa and glutamine is a good bonus. It mixes up in barely any water if you want also. My only complaint is that its a tiny tub. Ill be done with this in less than a month which is my only problem because i dont want to have to buy a new tub every 24 days bummer
overall product wise awesome.

I have been using BSN products for over eight years. Their protein products have always been very good. This Lean Dessert product does satisfy your sweet tooth in some way. Maybe the taste isn't exactly like fudge but it is pretty close. The only reason I gave it four stars is because it does not fully mix when using just a spoon. But I'm not picky over that. Still a great night time protein drink.
