This battery works fine for my HP DV1000 laptop. My old 12-cell battery died after putting in almost 4 good years of work. with this battery I get ~2.5-3 hours of battery life. It's like having a new computer again, after all but 3 of my cells in the old 12-cell battery died and I had only ~45 mins life.

Everything arrived in a timely manner, and there were no issues with the seller (NewMP3technology).

One note: when I began using this battery, my AC adapter would get hotter than I remember it being with the original battery. I'm not sure if this is due to the battery, or the cable has been getting old (but before this there was no issue with the cable & I was using it, with no battery to power my laptop.) In any case, now I need a new cord, due to a portion of the cable failing and overheating.

Again, not sure that if the cable failed from overheating, or overheated due to failure (or if this is linked to the battery), just fyi.

Followed the instructions (extremely small print-had to use a magnifying glass to read). All indications are that it has a full charge, but won't run the laptop for more than a few minutes.
