I was very happy to find these stainless steel bottles in the midst of the SIGG BPA scandal. The bottle is a nice size, and the designs are very nice. My daughter loves the butterflies.

However...the flaws. Even when the sipper spout is closed, it leaks if it lies on its side, and let's face it...a kid's bottle won't be upright all the time. For instance, if I pull it out from the bottom of my purse, the pink cap is full of water. And when you open it, water goes everywhere...very annoying. The other very annoying part is that you cannot hook your finger through the cap loop to carry it, or to attach a caribiner as the lid pops off. My daughter sees me carry my Nalgene water bottle by the loop, and gets so frustrated that she can't carry her water bottle by the loop.

Obviously, because it is metal it's going to dent, which it does quite easily. And I have never put this in the dishwasher (as they suggest you don't) and the paint is chipping off.

So, back to plastic bottles I go.

I was very disappointed to learn after I had purchased these that they are only "lead-safe" and NOT "lead-free" - because of the paint on the outside. My children love them, but I hesitate to let them use it. It's too bad that Crocodile Creek couldn't source safer paint.

My 5 year old is a bit old for the straw-sippy cups by Thermos so we've been searching for a stainless steel alternative for her. We've found it in the new Crocodile Creek water bottles! Of course BPA is a scare for all parents and you don't have to worry about that with stainless steel. These bottles are small enough to fit in a school lunchbox and have a sport-style top so they work well for older kids. They're available in a WIDE array of colors to fit any child's preference.

We have two for our 5 year old and will buy more soon for the 3 year old.

After using three of them, and following manufacturer's directions on cleaning, the paint peeled off all of them, and after reading another review, I worry about the lead in the paint, as they are not lead free products, but lead safe. (not positive, just based on another reviewer's commentary) Also, they leak - a lot. Unless of course your child never ever lets the bottle tip on its side. Very disappointed....

I really like this water bottle. It's the best I've been able to find so far. Cute designs, made of safe stainless steel. doesn't leak, easy sip spout and a cover to keep the spout clean. I wish they made it in larger sizes for me. My 2 yr old daughter has been using hers for over a month now, & so far so good. I just ordered one for my 4 yr old also.

I bought two of these water bottles for my nieces. They are so beautiful! We bought my 3 year old daughter one of these bottles more than a year ago and it still looks like new, no dents, no scratches, nothing. We hand wash it all the time. It does not leak unless it is not closed properly. My daughter can open it and close it by herself with no problem.

I will definitely recommend it to anybody!

Overall a good water bottle, but the plastic top starts to loosen and not shut tight after about a months use.

Everything was fine, but the butterfly did not match the picture! Instead of the multiple butterflies shown in the image, the bottle only had 2 butterflies. Larger, 1 on each side. No biggie, but my 4yr old daughter had her heart set on what she picked online. Oh well. Also, Amazon couldn't do anything for me since it is fulfilled by another vendor. I tracked those guys down, left a message and never heard back. So much for that!

I am trying to completely stop using plastic water bottles. I wanted my daughter to have a really cute water bottle and this is perfect. It doesn't leak when in her lunch box or camp bag and she loves it.

Perfect size to fit in my daughter's book bag - and perfect size for her (age 7). I love that the drinking spout is covered. She takes water to school each day. One thing I would change would be some way to attach it to her bag rather than inserting in one of the pockets.
