Hats off to Naxos for producing this series of recordings. They are expertly rendered by a well known keyboardist as well as scholar in this obscure field of historic organ playing. The Buxheimer manuscripts are significant in that they represent the earliest extant collection of written organ music. This volume (#1) consists of popular song and religious hymn settings (for organ) that were well known in their day (15th C. Germany). I would recommend them for the organ enthusiast.
