The real problem with this book is its misinformation, (i.e. being able to inspect houses before Trustee sales and being able to purchase foreclosed property at auction with a 10% down payment)...WHAT GARBAGE, everyone knows that foreclosed property is sold as is and you need all cash at the trustee sales to purchase, no financing! Otherwise it would be listed in the MLS and selling at market value. Don't believe the hype of easy money, there are always risks involved, afterall, anything that is worthwhile to have is going to take some work to get! This author is in a fantasy world and wants company. The reason I am giving this book "1" star and not a "0" is because it contains a few remnants of helpful information, but not enough to offset its faults and justify a purchase. Save your money and avoid!

This book is the best of the best. Melissa's experience and practical advice are amazing. Don't waste your money on those TV informercial people like I did. For less than $..., this book will give you everything you need and more.

This is simply the best book on foreclosures that I have found. I know a lot about real estate because I have owned my own real estate office for the last 14 years and own several properties. I love reading real estate books and this one is GREAT. The book was very well written and very well researched.

EXCELLENT

The author is obviously very knowledgeable about foreclosures. I found that this book had a very straightforward approach to investing in foreclosures. It told about things that you need to watch out for that I wasn't aware of. The book also has a lot of great real life experiences.

Excellent price for a great book.

Thankfully I listened to the people that gave it 5 stars. This is not only a very well written book, it is packed with relevant information. I would recommend this book to anyone.

I found the book to be very well written. There is great information for beginners and experts in the real estate field.

Excellent Value

Being a professional in the Real Estate field, my hopes for this book far outreached the reality of the book. The material covered is thin and unsupported at best. The Real Estate field must have been different in 1992 when the book was published in regards to bank owned and foreclosures at auction. This publication is for the absolute novice only. Those that demand something more comprehensive should look elsewhere.

I have purchased several books on foreclosures over the years (including the informercial ones that cost several hundred dollars). This book by far is the best value. It gives a no-nonsense approach to buying foreclosures and teaches you how to make money without losing your shirt. Melissa Kollen-Rice is a very accomplished writer and is soon to be a lawyer (if she is not already). For less than $20, you owe it to yourself to buy this book.

I have read many books on the subject and I think this is the best. It was very well written and has helpful information for the novice and expert.

Great book! I found this book very helpful, especially compared to all of the garbage that they spew on TV. Everyone can can find several useful items in this book, no matter how experienced or inexperienced they are. I am now living in my first foreclosure and I'm looking forward to buying another one for investment.
