To preface, Buzz is one of the best video games I've ever played-no lie, it ranks right up there with Guitar Hero and Wii Sports.

You, along with up to 7 other players (4 come in a pack, but you can connect additional) on a PS2 or PS3 answer trivia questions in different formats. For example, one round is all about general knowledge, another more like whammy-where each player has to throw pies and the last standing wins points. There's also short, medium, long & easy, medium, hard games...and unlike some games, it is actually a difference rather than a distinction.

Players in my family (aged 16 to 54) had tons of fun and played for many hours since we got it. While the "young ones" might be better at buzzing (the controller is REALLY sensitive-it differentiates between hundreths of seconds-so don't worry about that), the golden oldies will probably get more questions right.

Questions focus mainly on sports, music, countries, and general knowledge, and great for a family of know-it-alls.

I know that this review is being posted the day before the product is released, but that is because i just spent an hour playing it in best buy.
My gf and I love board games, card games, vifeo games, etc, and this seems to bring it all together. The game itself does take a while to load, but once you are playing it is a blast. There are several different mini games that can be played, which adds to the replay value. As far as the questions, the review states that it is 5000, so it should be a lot of fun.

I know that i was severely dissappointed when they didn't have the product in best buy so i could buy it right then and there (i am not a very impulsive person at all). but i will be snatching it up as soon as it comes off of the truck tommorow!!

This games is really innovative, it brings the game show to you and makes it into a competition between you and your friends/family!! THe controllers do come with the game for $39, so you have to get this version specifically, once again, the controllers do NOT come with the $29 version, only the $39 version.

This game is loads of fun. We've played a dozen times--enough to want to purchase four more controllers so that eight players can participate. There's the catch--you can't buy the controllers separately!! What's up with that? What I really don't get is how they can sell the software by itself, without the needed controllers, if controllers can't be purchased on their own. I can't decide if I want to also purchase the Jr. version (which does not sound as interesting) just so we can get four more controllers. It seems like a trick to me!! Thanks a lot, SONY!!!

Update--We DID buy the Jr. game just to get the controllers--and it turns out that you CAN NOT play regular Buzz with eight players!! If you want to have 8 players, you only get to choose from certain custom set-ups which result in very short uninteresting games. For instance, the eight player game had NO final countdown! So, DO NOT BUY MORE CONTROLLERS!!

The first day we got this game the kids played it for about 8 hours straight. After they went to bed, the adults started! This game was purchased for use in a rec center on a compound located in Egypt where many Americans spend their time. This game out ranks any other game we have down there. Easy to get the hang of it and the controllers are great! The response for the game has been so positive that we are going to buy another version of the game just to get another set of controllers so that 8 people can play and we don't have to take turns. Well worth the price!

We opened this one up on Thanksgiving and had the whole family in stitches! This is such a great game, for all ages. Kids and grandparents a like were fighting to "buzz" the fastest. You really should buy this, plus it's one of the few games that will actually teach your kids something educational! I bought this for my stepdaughter the next day! Fantastic!

There are lots of different games with a wide variety of questions. There's your standard multiple choice quiz. A First-To-Answer quiz. Time-Based, Photo, Audio, etc. The various rounds make it a lot more fun.

There's two downsides. First, the background music of the game seems to overpower the "host's" dialogue so sometimes you miss what he's saying. Maybe there's a way to turn that down in the options. Second, when loading the game the second time, the game file on my memory card was corrupt. That's never happened before with any game, so I'm somewhat skeptical. I deleted the block and started again. Hopefully it'll be fine.

In case anyone was wondering, the hand-held buzzers plug into the USB connector. I completely forgot the PS2 even had those since I never had a reason to use them. Everyone who's played the game (6 people, so far, from ages 26 to retired) has loved it.

Simply fantastic fun fall all of the family, especially those that NEVER play video games. They usually end up having the most fun !

this game is a lot of fun with a group. it has single player but its not nearly as fun.

I had originally played BUZZ! at a friend's house on the PS3. When I found that I could pick up various versions of BUZZ! at a nice price for the PS2, I jumped on it. The Mega Quiz has more rounds and more questioning than the other version that I played but, of course, the graphics and fanfare are quite limited by comparison to the PS3 version. All that aside, though, it's great fun for up to 4 people, especially if the other 3 are people that you love to crush while playing trivia games.

We played this game in Europe and couldn't wait for it to come to the States. The range of questions and the fact that it covers a number of decades make it's a good test for all ages. This version uses observation as well as general knowledge to answer questions. It's huge fun and with this package you got 4 handsets included for the same price as the game.
