From its 100% charge to 0% the battery lasted 30 hours!

I'd never say that the battery that I got was possibly counterfeit or anything, but.... I'll let the reader draw their own conclusions.

It does make the phone a little thicker and will not fit in my otterbox, but I still feel the extended battery is worth it.

In a nutshell, this battery will give you a full days worth of battery life, and anyone with a Droid Bionic should buy one. It will make your phone a bit fatter, but I don't mind the extra girth at all, and it makes the phone more comfortable to hold for me. Phone is still pretty light even with extended battery.

I was pleased to see that the battery and case certainly look OEM. The sticker has serial numbers and marking that look exactly like my normal OEM battery. Also, the plastic extended battery back panel, looks and feels exactly like the original along with the Verizon, 4G and Google logos. As far as I can tell, this is the real deal OEM.

Performance: I received the battery with about 80% charge. I charged the battery to 100%, then I downloaded and installed the "BatteryCalibration" app from the android marketplace. I followed the 4 simple steps.

1) Plug your phone to the charger
2) Wait till it charges to 100%
3) Click "Battery Calibration"
4) Unplug your phone.

What this app does is wipe your battery stats. It forces the phone to recognize that you have a new and different battery with different capacity. If you don't do this, you will not get optimal battery life out of your new extended battery.

After doing Calibration, I allowed the phone to die completely and then charged it again. Under first charge, my phone last just over 24hours. It's a brand new phone for me, so I have been playing with it extensively all day, using 4G mainly, some WiFi, games, pictures, a bit of Navigation, and lots of texting, emailing, browsing, etc.

So 24 hours I think was really good. My other battery would die after 9 hours tops of similar use. I'm sure if you use the phone moderately throughout the day, you might even get a day and a half of battery life out of it. Most people should have no problem making it through the entire day, and then just charging it at night.

Leaving the phone idle to light use, I can stay off he charger from Fri morning to Sun night with hours of life to spare. With heavy phone use, its easy to get through the entire day. Streaming an entire Monday Night Football game through the NFL app takes about 30% of the battery on wifi. I leave all the performance settings on max, display is set bright with a long timeout, and let apps refresh data often. Ie, I don't have to worry about the silly batt running down. I use the phone for all its worth.

Overall I like the weight and little bit of bulk it adds. Phone feels better in the hand. The Moto Razr is impressive engineering, but its uncomfortable to hold the thin phones imo.

I also like how the back won't let the camera lens touch the surface. Stays cleaner and no scratches on the lens.

When I recieved the extended battery for my Droid Bionic, I considered it a life-saver. It lasts much much longer than the original battery. However, almost one month to the day after placing it in my phone, I noticed that instead of showing a charge the battery in my status bar shows only a "?". When I tried to charge it, it claimed that my battery was not genuine Motorola (it is, I double-checked) and that it would not be able to charge. I tried to charge it anyway, to no avail. I tried to drain the battery to reset it, still no luck. I tried to place the original battery in it (works fine), charge it to 100%, the switch it back, but it also failed. From looking at various threads online, it seems that this isn't a problem that can be fixed, and that the battery is no good. Of course this happened just outside the return policy date, meaning I have a 30-something dollar paperweight and an underperforming battery in my phone again.

I was a little hesitant in buying this, Since it seemed that everyone either had really great reviews, or a really bad review. I decided to risk it, and I am glad I did.

Pros: Amazing battery life. Looks to be authentic Motorola. Still fits in my car dock. When I purchased it, it was $20, so well worth the price. Feels like a new phone!

Cons: The batter cover doesn't seem to lock on completely on the left side by the usb port. While I havent had any problems with the battery cover falling off or seeming loose, it does concern me. I contacted the seller, who said I would have to send back both the battery and the cover to exchange it (as opposed to just the cover). I decided I would live with it, since I didnt want to risk getting a bad battery.

I recommend calibrating the battery as soon as you get this. This is done by discharging the batter until you get down to 10% and the notification comes on to plug your phone in. Power OFF the phone, and charge the battery until it is 100% (and leave it off). Unplug and re-plug in the charger to ensure that it is completely 100% charged. When you know its 100% charged, power on your phone, and use it again until you are down to get the low battery notification again. Leaving your phone on, charge your phone until you are 100%. Your battery should now be calibrated! Many people suggest doing this alteast once a month. This will help keep your battery healthy and prolong its life.

Update 1/23/2013:
I have been very happy with this for the 2 months I have had it. The battery cover seems to do its job, so no complaints there. With the standard battery and my moderate to heavy use, I would have to plug in my phone on my way home from work (ie 8 hours and its completely dead) if not before then. Now, I unplug my phone early in the morning, and dont plug it in again until I go to bed with plenty of battery to spare. As I leave this review, I have 50% battery left after 12.5 hours of moderate use!
