I purchased this curling iron/straightener for a 9-day trip to London, and I was extremely happy with the purchase and effectiveness of the item. I did extensive reading/research on the web and various travel sites, and I even spoke w/my Italian hairstylist (who travels back to Italy regularly) who reports he's had several problems with other items, and insisted I get a transformer and adapter as the only way to prevent destroying the curling iron. These are costly (~$30-40 in U.S), plus cost of item, so I decided to spend that same money on the curling iron alone and take my chances. Thus I was fully prepared for this little item to blow up once I got to London and plugged it in, but I honestly can say it worked perfectly the entire week. I had the small adapter plug (which can be purchased for $9 in the US or sometimes as low as 2-5pounds in the UK/Scotland), which is far less expensive than a transformer, and took the iron to various friends homes/flats and had no issues whatsoever. It heats up very quickly, curled my hair nicely, and the curl held throughout the day except in heavy rain (which I considered normal and would have happened in the U.S.). The only mild limitation was that it doesn't grip hair as tightly as some other curling irons I've used, but it certainly did so enough to be effective. It also takes a while to cool down, so bring a sleeve for it when you use it! All in all, fairly affordable and functional. Happy travels!

This product is leaps and bounds above it's other price-range curling irons - it gets very hot relatively quickly and is pretty easy to use.

Unfortunately you do get what you pay for (and I was ripped off paying $45 at the beauty store for it.) After about 2 days of use, there was a short in the rotating cord and if the iron is held at an odd angle, it turned off. It was still usable, but I had to modify the way I curled my hair to avoid it turning off and losing heat. After about 6 months, you can see the ceramic coating chipping off a little - and I used the iron about 3-4x per month.

If you're in the market for a cheap curling iron - I would suggest this because compared to the Revlon, Remington and Conair brands I've had in the past, this is the closest to a high end curling iron among them - most likely you will have better luck with your iron than I did.

I bought this to take with me on my trip to Europe. I really hate hassling with transformers (they rarely fit well, Euro and UK plugs are recessed) and I didn't want to fry my $$$ 110 voltage curling iron, so this fit the bill. They are hardly any ceramic dual voltage curling irons with a variety of sizes to choose from. I think I could only find Babyliss and Ceramic tools. Besides the decent reviews and reasonable price, I ultimately choose this one because of the long barrel. I have long hair and need the room to work my hair.

Wow! I have naturally wavy hair that I struggle with daily to keep "un-frizzed." My hair stylist suggested I buy an Ion dryer and a ceramic curling iron. She told me metal was hard on hair and caused breaking, frizzing and dried hair too much. I had no idea - I always used metal irons in the past and regular hair dryers and because of my frizzing, I mainly let my hair air dry. But after speaking with her, I went out and purchased both the Ion dryer and the ceramic curling iron. I did my research to find the best brands and Ceramic Tools appeared to be the one! Not only is it a ceramic iron, but it also is Ion charged... apparently, the ceramic produces Ions in your hair which shapes it as naturally as possible (with an electronic tool). The results are beautiful!! My hair isn't frizzy anymore. I blowdry it upside down with the Ion dryer (You can also find that on Amazon.Com) and curl my hair with the ceramic iron. I have to say, this is a "professional" iron, so be sure to either ask your stylist for help with the settings or read the directions carefully for information on your hair type (setting it too high can damage finer hair).

It is a wonderful tool! I can get a tousled look in about 15 minutes by curling each section a different direction, flipping upside down, fluffing and scrunching. I then set with professional hair spray. Beautiful results!!! And best of all.... no more frizz. HOORAY! :D

After about a year, the ceramic coating starts to wear off. Then it does nothing but fry your hair. Better off spendin your money on a real ceramic iron.

I bought this curling iron to take to Germany on a recent trip. I was in 5 different hotels and it worked perfectly each time. I also purchased the plug adaptor and had no problems at all. I actually like this curling iron better than my old one and will use this one now that I'm back from my trip. I highly recommend this curling iron, especially if you're going to Europe.

The ceramic curling is much more gentle on your hair than the stainless steel ones. The barrel heats very quickly and releases the curled hair perfectly. The cord length is great - not like the stingy length cords found on curling irons found at CVS, Kmart, Walmart, etc. The only negative is the temperature dial. The numbers are very small so I must put my glasses on to see them. My fingers sometimes bump the dial and accidently turn it to a lower temperature.

This was a worthwhile buy having searched for a dual voltage curling iron for 6-mos. Stable handle, heat settings up to 25, smooth ceramic wand that doesnt snag your hair. I appreciate the strong clip that keeps the hair in place while curling. Salon quality. Heats up quickly- goes with me EVERYWHERE.

Definitely not good for shorter hair. Make sure you have long hair if you are buying this. Also hard to use as a straightener without burning yourself.

Ok whats going on with ceramic products.This is the second product I bought that the ceramic is chipping or changing color.This curling iron was working nicely at first. It got hot right away and then it wouldnt heat up at all. the off and on buttons are touch sensitive so you have to keep checking to see if the iron is still on. I have had better luck with Hot tools brand for curling irons but Babyliss has the best flat irons. Titanium of course.
