5.0 out of 5 stars brilliant!
Knowing what the future lies ahead of me has always pique my curiosity. Joey has brilliantly written this book which explains how we could decode one's destiny code. The fundamentals are clearly explained in the simplest form and I can't wait to receive the second part to this book.

This review is from: BaZi- The Destiny Code: Your Guide to the Four Pillars of Destiny (Paperback)
With the little information out there on authentic Four Pillars Chinese Astrology, this book and the sequel are a must have. These books provide very good information on learning the Four Pillars yet I found they contained a lot of filler information and always referenced wealthy people as well as being focused on wealth. Granted most people are interested in wealth so I don't blame him. The book also had at least 20 pages of plugs for all his other content and throughout the book he kept saying that it was a beginner book and that he would explain more complex things in later books. The world of Joey Yap is basically an empire of endless self help through the Chinese Divination Arts with books, tapes, DVD's, software, courses, seminars etc etc. Granted this information can help you and I sincerely believe he wants to help people but I get the immpression that once you sign in you become an income stream to be maximized. What I don't like is that these two books could have been combined into one book. Everything is basically piecemeal and a teaser for the next thing until you are bleed dry. That's why I say be careful. So here is the GOOD, great information and lots of resources, The BAD, make no mistake he isn't Lao Tse and isn't trying to be. Look I am not trying to be negative, but his two books on BaZi cost $66 when it should have been one book and cost about $25. get my point.

5.0 out of 5 stars I learnt a lot from this book, October 1, 2007
This review is from: BaZi- The Destiny Code: Your Guide to the Four Pillars of Destiny (Paperback)
This is a great book. Whether you are a absolute beginner or a enthusiast (like me), I think you will find this a good investment. The first part of the book provides the reader with a good foundation of 5 elements, stems & branches as well as the concept of destiny & luck. Then the second half goes into the real juciy bits- finding your favourable element, the 5 major factors and its application in the various aspects of your life.

It is systematic and well written enough for a beginner, yet comprehensive enough for a more advance reader like me. I found it filled in a lot of the gaps I have from reading other books on Chinese Astrology.

5.0 out of 5 stars ideal for beginners, December 25, 2007

This review is from: BaZi- The Destiny Code: Your Guide to the Four Pillars of Destiny (Paperback)
Written in easy English, this book is a good introduction to the heavenly stems and earthly branches, as well as the relationships between the 5 elements. It also teaches you how to plot a natal chart with simple illustrative examples. Very pictorial, as with most other Joey Yap books, which makes it simple to read and easy to understand.

The book shows part of Four Pillars knowledge but not is suficient. Other book, BaZi ...Revealed, is necessary to complement the analysis.

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent intro to BAZI, July 12, 2009

This review is from: BaZi- The Destiny Code: Your Guide to the Four Pillars of Destiny (Paperback)
This is a very clearly written and thorough intro to BAZI-"Chinese Feng Shui Astrology". The incomparable Joey Yap has done it again with plenty of example Bazi charts, Illustrations, and Reference Tables. A pleasure to read and a fine complementary study to Feng Shui.

3.0 out of 5 stars Overpriced, but not Bad, July 5, 2011

This review is from: BaZi- The Destiny Code: Your Guide to the Four Pillars of Destiny (Paperback)
This was one of the first books I came across when I set out to learn about Four Pillars Chinese Astrology, and it would be great if it had been a little cheaper. For one thing, the book contains a LOT of filler, and it's as much an advertisement for the next book as it is a guide to BaZi.

Having said that, so long as you get this book along with the next one in the series, Bazi The Destiny Code Revealed - Delve Deeper into the Four Pillars of Destiny, you'll walk away with a satisfactory understanding of the BASIC concepts of Four Pillar Astrology.

I would have rated this lower, as it (and it's sequel) should have been one book in my opinion, but as this is one of the only books on the subject out there, and it does do a decent job of teaching basic BaZi, I'll give it three stars.

This review is from: BaZi- The Destiny Code: Your Guide to the Four Pillars of Destiny (Paperback)
This book takes a bit more time to study then book 1. You can probably read the book in a few days to a week, but if you are trying to learn how to apply the principles of BaZi it will take you a while.

I loved the way this book was written. I felt that Joey Yap was right next to me walking me through each page, uncovering the mysteries with me. Destiny charts are complex, and this book provides a great beginning to the path of understanding
