This is probably my favorite CD because it is so unique and beautifully done. Abida Parveen has a gifted voice like no other; she sends her full soul into every song she sings, and that is quite evident in this CD. This should appeal to people of all faiths, not just Sufis, as the message of this music is simply submittance to the Divine. I reccomend this CD to anyone who is interested in traditional forms of South Asian music, and to anyone who is interested in giving something different and unique a fair chance. Note that the lyrics are in Saraiki, a Kashmiri regional language, so the translations and transliterations help a lot. I guarantee that you will love this CD and be mesmerized by Parveen's deep, soothing voice.

This is one of our favourite CDs. Abida Parveen has an awesome voice that is powerful and precise. The music is sublime and beatifully recorded. This is something that you can listen to over and over again. Its one of those albums that makes you go out and buy every other album from the same artist in the hope that you can continue and extend that experience. I believe this is one of Abida's best and best recorded. Given that it is a relatively recent release, I am hopeful she will release more albums of a similar quality. A more recent single about Bulleh Shah himself is actually even nicer but I have not found it anywhere on the internet as yet. I got my copy of that song from a friend.

We are privileged in being able to understand what she is singing about and have to say that the meaning of the Bulleh Shah poetry is as beautiful and very relevant to humans of all ages, cultures and periods in history.
