I've been playing this album non-stop since it came out. It reminds me of my favorite My Morning Jacket albums--The Tennessee Fire, At Dawn and It Still Moves--I say this in the best possible way. I don't feel like Futurebirds are derivative. But they have that same sense of crafting atmosphere. Once in Vegas I drove out to the Hoover Dam and then out into Arizona listening to MMJ. I was sure it was the only music that could possible reflect the tone of the city lights and their conversation with the night and then the haunting descent into the Dam with that feeling of falling the length of the wall into the black and the the stars out beyond in Arizona where you felt how the bowl of the Vegas valley had been flipped upside down because the darkness between stars was just a footnote in the heavens. Now I have another album to take with me on that drive.

I love Futurebirds. LOVE them. This album is great, their first album was great, they are amazing live. Go see them if they come to your town!

I loved Hampton's Lullaby. This one is even better. Continues in the same vein, reverby strumming guitars, steel guitar and layers of beautiful vocals. Songwriting has improved.

great album. I think I listened to it repeatedly for about 2 weeks after buying. It's great to see the progression of this band.
