My son is 4 years and 6 months. His name is Ashkaan. Living in California, we get to enjoy the large Persian American community.

My son who speaks both English and Persian very well had always asked me why there were no Persian cartoons. I never had a good answer.

When we heard about "A First Norooz" or as Ashkaan now fondly calls it Babak and friends, we both became excited. When the DVD arrived, one Saturday we sat down and watched it first in English. Then, he took control of the DVD's remote control. He laughed with the English version and laughed again with the Persian version and had a great time.

It is now a ritual in our home that any new kid stopping by would sit down to watch this wonderful movie with a heart warming story and I simply enjoy how my son tells the upcoming scenes to his friends.

I saw both versions and its very well done - first of its kind. for all to enjoy. My kids loved it and my mom did too. She was very proud that IRanians have something good now and that she can be "Persian & proud". My kids are both speaking more farsi now as a result of the easy dialogue. Great affirmation of our culture and traditins. keep up the good work.

Babak and friends is a masterpiece in any respect. It teaches the children the mutual cultural understanding and therefore, it is a true gem in educational purposes. The plot is very nice and teaches that not only tolerance is important but also an active interest and participation in other cultures is a must for every person. This way a mutual understanding among different cultures is established. I cannot praise this production enough and would like to recommend it to anyone, not only children but also adults. Truly a maginificent production.

My kids relate to this movie so much and enjoyed watching it over and over. They loved it so much that they took it to Iran on the last trip we made. They end up watching it with their Iranian cousins since it has both Farsi and English version. It was a great movie to introduce Norooz to my kids and telling them about our traditions

This is a great movie for children 2 and up. The movie is done in Farsi and English. This film teaches the children about the Iranian Norouz and how people celebrate it. It is sweet and somewhat funny. I highly recommend it and I think young children will really enjoy it.

I bought this DVD for my little cousins who have never visited their Dad's country. They loved it. Very engaging and nicely put together. I hope more cultural videos like this are released!
