Babe Didrikson Zaharias - An American Dream,

We thought that the book was very historical and learned aboutsomeone we had never heard of before. The beginning of the book madeus want to read on. We think that it is a good children's book, andwe think that all schools should have these books to read to the children. It shows good examples, like you can be anything that you want to be if you try. We are looking forward to the next in the series.

As a teacher, I can say that this book holds the attention of young readers easily. It stimulates lots of classroom discussion about Babe's era and lends itself well to math lessons in measurement, problem-solving, time-lines, and even setting up your own Olympic Games!! Every elementary school library should have a copy or two.
