A SciFi classic - a little dated but still ok.,
By K. Maxwell "katmax1" (Sydney, Australia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Babel-17 (Paperback)
When poet Ryda Wong is asked to crack a code called Babel-17 that is being used by the enemy of her people she makes a startling discovery that sends her across the galaxy in a quest to prevent further destruction. This book was written in 1966 and was an award winner at the time. The book is easy to read, but the world it sketches is rather thin compared to most of today's SciFi novels. I found this a straight-forward, if a bit old-fashioned, read. It was interesting to see how these sorts of novels have changed since the 1960's, but this is not a book I'd seek out to read twice.
