Midterm review for medical students,
By IM (California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: House Season 1 (Amazon Instant Video)
The plot gets repeated (with variations of names and diseases), but pretty much goes like this:1. A person goes about a normal life, then BOOM - something happens, they collapse and ambulance is called 2. Dr. House gets on the case one way or another (usually due to the case being "unusual") 3. The team brainstorms the DDxes 4. The team decides on the treatment 5. Treatment is wrong - patient gets much worse, in most episodes illustrated by seizures. 6. Dr. House comes up with a brilliant solution 7. Patient that was within 2 hours of death gets to go home in a couple of days Despite all that, it is fun to see the stuff from the textbook illustrated on the screen, plus some of the Dr. House's rude remarks are priceless. I think so far, the only one episode had the patient die, which I personally do not mind - I am a sap for happy endings. |
