Introduction from the Author
When people come to Babson College, they see a very realistic version of what life is like. Walking down the middle of campus, youÂll see students hurrying to class, some even reading class notes while talking on their cell phones. Their determined long strides, coupled with a serious business-like style signal the fact that they are in a hurry and donÂt want to waste any time to give you a smile or a friendly look. This may seem like a negative depiction of a typical student, but keep in mind, itÂs only a first impression.
Students here are just like at any other business school, except that they are a bit overwhelmed with work most of the time. But out of class, most ÂBabsonians are outgoing, well-mannered, and friendly. There are, of course, exceptions to all generalizations, but you will not have much trouble finding a group of people who share your views and interests. Although a majority of students at Babson own a summer and a winter car, most students here are not as stuck up as they may seem. This school may be known for its diversity, but youÂd be surprised how well everyone fits into a certain cultural mold. Many students also complain about the small college size when speaking in terms of social life on campus. And though the size of this business school is small in comparison to giants such as Penn State and New York University, it is well known all over the world for its entrepreneurship program and atmosphere. It is therefore an abode to many international students and students from all over the nation.
You will not find that the party scene here is as raging as at most of the schools your friends go to, but the academics here are excellent. The teachers, faculty, and everyone in the administration are extremely helpful in providing Babsonians with a well-rounded college experience. Babson offers a large variety of Division III varsity sports, tons of organizations to choose from, and a serious business curriculumÂthe latter being the main reason why most students choose Babson.
