5.0 out of 5 stars Baby goes wild for Baby Animals, December 31, 1999
This review is from: Baby Animals (Touch and Feel Ser.) (Board book)
This book has caught the undivided interest of my nearly nine month old daughter. She will crawl to it frequently during her play time and turn the pages, touching and and exploring the tactile surprises found on each page. I highly recommend it for quality parent-baby book time.

This series of board books are fantastic.

I started collecting these for my daughter after she was given one at 6 months as she loved them so much. The book is simple and easy to read with wonderful real photography (not illustrations)and textures on each page that relate to the text on the page.

It's a great book to get your baby involved in the reading process, to learn what you are saying also means a texture they can actually touch. It's also a book that baby can read alone with easy to turn pages and endless fascination with the different textures.

A wonderful book to get your children learning, thinking and enjoying books. You can never have too many books to read with your children.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great first book, August 29, 2002
This review is from: Baby Animals (Touch and Feel Ser.) (Board book)
Well made, sturdy board book. One of the only books my 16 month old son will look at and talk to us about. He loves the pictures and the fact that part of it is fun to touch. I recommend this book and I am considering getting some of the other ones in the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Book!, June 28, 2010
My 14 month old son has played with this book and chewed on it since he was about 6 or 7 months old. He now enjoys reading it with us and making the animal noises (he can only quack and baaaaa so far- lol). He loves to turn the pages himself. Unfortunately, with all the wear/tear my son has destroyed much of the book. It is now in "chapters" around the livingroom- yet he still seeks it out. I am searching for a replacement book now. Highly recommend this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Must-have board books for babies, May 21, 2010
This review is from: Baby Animals (Touch and Feel Ser.) (Board book)
This was one of the kids' favorite books when they were babies. Great textures and nice resolution photos allow for immediate interaction.

Five different textures to feel (soft, rough, fluffy, smooth, furry). I think probably Wild Animals (Touch and Feel) has slightly better variety.

These DK books were published over ten years ago but they are just as useful nowadays. Looks like this and Wild Animals have been combined into a new edition: Animals (Baby Touch and Feel)

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun book for the kids, February 19, 2011
This review is from: Baby Animals (Touch and Feel Ser.) (Board book)
We are big fans of the touch and feel type books and this one is a favorite of the nana-toddlers. They love animals and this book allows them to "touch" bunnies, gorillas, ducks and more. The furs are different naps and thicknesses which allows you to talk about texture. The elephants, for instance, have a "rough" touch so you can talk about why an elephant has rough skin vs. a short haired calf or a thicker haired gorilla. As I said, the kids love animals and love the touch and feel books--we must read this at least once a day!
