I purchased this seat after my daughter did not show an interest in inserts. I liked it because of it's simple design, easily removed basin, and it appeared to be easy to clean. However, I was not happy with this purchase. First, since the splash guard is not removable, that makes it uncomfortable for use with girls. Then, as any Mom who is potty training knows, you have the little one sitting on the seat for quite some time. Since this seat is so small and hard, it made it very uncomfortable for her and therefore she did not want to use it. Finally, the fact that the basin is easily removable, make that TOO easily removable. My dauther would yank it out in a split second and cause a huge mess. However, I think this could make a great seat to carry in your car for emergencies. I put a plastic bag around the basin, put the basin in the seat and it's neat and great for use when stuck in traffic, "I HAVE TO GO NOW!" or when the public restroom is NOT something you'd like your child to use.

The Baby Bjorn is the only one we've tried and it could not be better. It is sturdy, has clean lines and thus is VERY easy to clean. It works great for my son who just turned two and is suddenly interested in the potty. It is designed to work great for boys and it does. My son loves to look at the bear, too. All in all, for having to buy yet another piece of baby/kid gear, it is the best one out there that I've seen. Did I mention how easy it is to clean? There are NO crevaces or hard-to-get-to spots. My son lifts the little black pot out and brings it over when he's all finished and it only takes about 30 seconds to clean it out and wipe the seat part down.

I bought this potty awhile back after reading lots of reviews and love it. Initially I liked the simplistic design and the fact that there are no gimmicks, just a potty. Now that my 22 month old son is potty training I am so thankful I bought this one. It is so easy to clean and he seems to find it comfortable to sit on. This is my fourth child and I wish I had had this one with my other kids because there is almost no way that liquid is going to end up anywhere other than in the potty! Other potties leaked because we would remove the splash guard since they tended to pinch. This splash guard is built in and doesn't seem to bother him one bit. I don't see any problem with a little girl using it, either. In fact, my niece used it the other day and had no trouble. The only drawback I can see is if you have a very large child, but otherwise, I love this potty and would recommend it to anyone with a toddler.

I bought this because I thought it was nice and simple-easy to clean and no leaks. However, my son won't use it. He won't sit on it because it is uncomfortable-not enough seat and hard splash guard. So then he tries to pee like daddy and it slides away. I am going to return it. The problem is, I can't find a good one for a boy which is comfortable, easy to clean, doesn't leak and is like a "real" adult potty for imitating.

I bought a different brand potty chair for my toddler, and returned it before I used it because it had so many parts, I couldn't easily pick it up and move it. I got this seat in exchange and my son and I both love it. The high back makes it easy to move with one hand, which I do more than I expected to. My son also likes the high back because he can lean against it and he uses the arm rests to help him stand up without tipping into the guard. The lip on the guard makes it very easy to lift and empty into the toilet, and because the whole potty is so smooth, it is easy to keep clean. I got this when my son was 15 months old, and our only trouble was that at that time, it was a little too high for him to sit without help on because the guard was in the way. But he wasn't ready to use it then anyway, and by the time he was about 18 months (average height), he had grown enough that it was easy to use. He just turned two and still seems to have room to grow.

I bought the Potty 'n Step Stool by Safety First for my 22 month old son. It did not work well for him. The deflector fell off every time he sat on the potty. We purchased the Baby Bjorn and it is so much better! It is easy for him to sit on and it is also easy to clean. Worth the extra money to have less hassle!

I read the reviews and bought this potty chair, figuring that based on other users' opinions my daughter would love it. However, the high splash guard on the front makes it very difficult for her to sit down. You cannot just back up and sit, you need to be directly over the potty to sit down. She has turned the bowl around, placing the splash guard to the back, but then she cannot sit back and get comfortable on the seat. Perhaps it works for those with boys - I wouldn't know - but I cannot recommend it to parents of girls.

We bought this potty to accompany the training method described in "Potty Training in Less Than a Day" by Azrin and Foxx, as the book encourages training the child to dump his/her own potty (we have since "untrained" this--the bathroom is too far away!). I am now going to buy one for my son's preschool, because he is often sent home with a a sack of wet pants--wet in the back, due to no pee guard! This potty is, indeed, easy to empty and clean, and it is definitely perfect for a boy over 18 months old and maybe for taller toddler girls who can easily clear the high front (the little one-piece baby bjorn potty is great for smaller children). In addition, the backrest makes it very comfortable. If only there were a girl model with no pee guard to get in the way! However, the pee guard is what makes it easy to dump, and I am really happy it is not removable, because those kinds always fall off.

My son is a little over 2, and we love this potty! The splash guard is high enough to keep everything in the potty. He loves being able to sit down on his own without any help from us. My only complaint is that I wish it were a little wider. My son is 36 inches tall and 30 lbs, I'm afraid he may outgrow it before he's ready for the real toilet.

We have a potty chair that belonged to my older daughter but my 2 1/2 year old son wasn't interested. After reading the reviews for the Baby Bjorn Potty Chair, I took my son to Babies R Us to buy this item. I made it seem like his choice which was easy because it wasn't in a box and he could sit on it to try it out while we were in the store. We brought it home and he used it three times that same day! We've had it for a week now and he has continued to use it and likes it very much. It is easy to empty and I am very pleased with it overall. I highly recommmend this potty.
