We love the Diaper Dekor and have referred it to many of our friends and family! It is SUPER simple to use and the refills which seem expensive at first are actually cheaper than other brands because they last for 2-3 months vs. a week (i.e. Diaper Genie)!

From reading the other reviews, I think I can clear a few things up - it seems these people have been misled hence their problems with this product. First, there are 2 versions of this pail - a larger called DIAPER DEKOR PLUS and regular size called simply DIAPER DEKOR. Thus, there are 2 different sizes of refills, PLUS and REGULAR. You can find out which model you have by simply opening the door on the pail - there is a sticker that will have the model on there - if you do not see PLUS anywhere, you will need to buy REGULAR refills - the PLUS will not fit, and vice versa.

Secondly, the refills are VERY easy to insert, you simply follow the directions which come with the unit. Basically, you remove the plastic insert, wrap the opened refills from the inside of the insert and around the top - the excess refill wraps around the outside of the plastic and then you sit it in the pail - knot tied in the bottom of the new refill. If you have a unit, this will make sense - if you haven't bought one yet, I probably just confused you - but you will see once you get it that it is very easy to do!

Last but not least, the refills that have been on the market for the past year have absolutely no scent at all - I personally would not mind having a baby powder scent but these have no scent. It's not like I will be sniffing inside the pail or anything, so it doesn't matter - afterall, once the refill is in the pail, NO SCENT will come out - not even dirty diapers!

Unfortunately, it seems these few reviewers who gave this product a poor rating were misinformed by store workers and their poor review actually had nothing to do with the product but rather frustration stemming from unknowledgable employees at baby stores. I hope this has helped! We've had this unit for nearly a year and absolutely swear by it! It is a GODSEND! No smells and how much easier can you get than just dropping a diaper into the pail and not having to do another thing! Not many other units will allow you to store up to 3 weeks of diapers without a single scent!

Compared to other diaper pails I have used, the Diaper Dekor is by far the best. It's worth the extra money and the best part is, the refills are very easy to use.

When I purchased mine, there was no Diaper Dekor+ which is the larger size. However, I feel that we have no need for a larger one. My child just turned two and it holds a weeks worth of diapers...no problem! I bought the Diaper Genie because I was told so many things about it and I hate it, it goes through bags quickly and the bags have a weird odor to them. I am currently pregnant and am sensitive to odors and the Diaper Dekor holds them all in until garbage day comes.

We got this instead of the Diaper Genie because we wanted something simple and easy to use-- no turning cranks-- and something that would still be usable after the baby's out of diapers. We love the Diaper Dekor! We bought 2 refill packs before my son was born. He's 13 months now, and I'm just now shopping for more.

Another reviewer mentioned problems installing refills. We did have trouble the first time, but once we'd each done it once it was a breeze. Highly recommend this product, though right now it looks like Amazon is no longer stocking the refills. That means I have to go to an actual Babies R Us store, which I hate. So, if they no longer stock, that could be a serious strike against this product. (But they do still stock the Diaper Dekor +, so I'd get that instead.)

I am so glad I bought the diaper dekor. It's a great size, no smell EVER, it's decorative and I like that I will be able to use it as a trash can after diaper days are over. DO NOT BUY ANY OTHER DIAPER PAIL...THIS IS IT!

There are two types of Dekor Refill, one regular and one 'plus'. The sizes are different and you better be sure to order the right one.

I really like the Diaper Decor. I wish that I had bought the larger one though. The refills are easy to use and much more convenient then changing a new bag every time. I have to say that it is not completely odor free, but I have yet to use a diaper pail that is. It looks nice in the baby's room and I like the fact that it is a "hands free" pail. I will use it as a bathroom garbage when the baby is out of diapers.

These bags work fine in the Dekor diaper pail. It would probably be easier if you could just buy trash bags from the store instead of special ordering them. But I am borrowing this diaper pail, so these are the bags that it uses. They do work great; keep the smell inside, etc. If you order be sure if you need regular or Dekor Plus diaper bags. There is a difference in the size of the bags.

I bought the smaller version "Diaper Decor" (as opposed to the larger "Diaper Decor Plus") about 18 months ago. Although I believe the smaller version has been discontinued about a year ago, I have not yet had a problem finding the refill liners at my local Babies R Us or on-line here at Amazon. I highly recommend the Diaper Decor. I do not have any experience with the Diaper Genie, so I cannot compare. I have not had any odor problems with the Diaper Decor. It is very easy to change the liners and there is no mess. My foot-operated lid opener also broke like some other reviewers, but this has not been a problem with me. I just open the lid manually and leave it open while I am changing the diaper. I would recommend the Diaper Decor in the Plus size.

I've had the Diaper Dekor for 18 months now. It is really a glorified trash can with refillable liners. However, it is simple...easy...and neat. We have not had ANY problems keeping it clean. All of my friends who bought the Diaper Genie are now using plain trash cans. This is an attractive, easy, clean alternative.
