Maria is the wife of a Mafia bookkeeper who is mistakenly killed in a gangland murder. Determined to avenge her husband's death, Maria goes after his killer, with a loaded revolver in her purse and her four year old daughter in her arms When she accosts the killer, the gun accidentally goes off killing her husband's murderer. On the run, Maria gets help from Yellow Cab driver, Ernie. With the mob after them, Ernie's cab becomes a target during a wild and crazy city-wide chase. Ernie manages to elude the mob and somehow, finds the time to fall in love.
