Molly's long-term relationship with Max is like champagne - all froth and bubbles, while deep down Molly has a longing for beans on toast and yes - babies. But while she's thrilled to find herself pregnant, Max's instinct is to run home to the wife who doesn't understand him. Molly soon finds herself out of a job, out of a relationship and out of luck. Her only option is to sell up her trendy singleton flat, move out to the suburbs and bring up her baby solo. But, while her old single friends are convinced she's 'gone over to the other side'; her newly acquired married ones are a little wary of her single status. Could it be that just because Molly's car now has a sticker that says 'BABY ON BOARD', her love life isn't entirely over...?

More About the Author
Author of 2 Piatkus commercial fiction novels and 2 Hamlyn non-fiction books, Stephanie has written for a variety of publications. From 2005-11 she was the cleaning guru for The Guardian newspaper's popular Space Solves column. Embracing the independent publishing revolution, Stephanie started blackbirdebooks in 2010 to produce her first ebook. Baby on Board by Stephanie Zia is one of the best modern novels I've read for a long time. It made me laugh, cry and think! Should be compulsory reading for anyone contemplating motherhood solo! Should appeal to men too for the insights it gives into the female mind!

I am a huge fan of chick lit.
However, I could not even get through this one. Main character Molly decides to get pregnant. Guy she is with does not want it (big surprise there). From one second to the next Molly morphs into this "SUPERMOM" and frankly it was unbelievable and silly. I did not get into the storyline at all and felt as though the story dragged and dragged (which is unusual for Brit lit). Could not even finish this one. Skip it.

I recieved a Amazon/UK gift certificate for my birthday and one of the book that I got was "Baby on Board" by Stephanie Zia, and I am sorry that the wasted it on this book! Molly Warren is a late thirty something who has spent the last six years with a married man. Realizing that her clock is running down, she get pregnant. Well, almost over night her world changes. Gone is her London flat, jetting around the world to a life in Kew spending time with postnatal group. Molly is a character that does not grow at all during the book. The only difference is now is that she has a baby. Do yourself a favor and just skip this book.
