5.0 out of 5 stars Love this book!, June 7, 2007

This review is from: Baby on Board: Becoming a Mother without Losing Yourself-A Guide for Moms-to-Be (Paperback)
This is a great book to help you through the transition to motherhood. It is incredibly thought provoking and makes you think hard about your values and post baby objectives as an individual. It is the kind of book you can read slowly when you have time to read and reflect. I definitely recommend it!

Baby on Board is a profound book. To say it packs an enormous and wonderful punch is an understatement. I have never read such a conscious, exciting, authentic approach to motherhood. Amy and Joelle impeccably follow the age old spiritul belief: Take care of Self so you can take care of others. Bravo ladies. Your book is a major gift to the world. Thank you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must read for all moms!, June 16, 2007
This review is from: Baby on Board: Becoming a Mother without Losing Yourself-A Guide for Moms-to-Be (Paperback)
I had the pleasure of reading a pre-release version of the book while I was expecting my daughter, Kate, and strongly recommend it for all mothers-to-be...in fact, for all mothers in general! Amy and Joelle's straightforward process empowered me to discover who I am, what I value and believe about myself and motherhood, what I wanted my life to be after Kate was born and how to focus my valuable time and energy on achieving what matters most to me as a woman, wife and mother. I know I am a better mother, and more importantly, friend to myself after having read this book and worked through their process.

5.0 out of 5 stars AMEN!, May 22, 2010
This review is from: Baby on Board: Becoming a Mother without Losing Yourself-A Guide for Moms-to-Be (Paperback)
This is a wonderful and helpful book for all mothers. Finally a book that is not 100% focused on the baby but rather gives needed attention to the person who will be caring for the baby. This book is all about reflection and self care which can so easily be lost when the special delivery arrives. I think we often miss the step that a happier and more taken care of mama will be good for baby.

5.0 out of 5 stars A neccessity for first time mothers!, January 24, 2010

This review is from: Baby on Board: Becoming a Mother without Losing Yourself-A Guide for Moms-to-Be (Paperback)
I am preparing for pregnancy and this book has been extremely important to me as I am going through this journey. Baby on Board has also helped me put things in perspective, I recently found out that I might loose by job due to budget cut in my workplace. This was absolutely devistating to me because my husband and I had been saving and preparing for a child. However, I come back to this book over and over again and it helps me put things back into focus again, and I know I will be a better mother because of this experience and I will be able to help my children in the future during their topsy turvy twenties. I suggest using a notebook to write down your answers to the questions as you go through the book. You will have many things to think about and discuss with your partner. Remember, it is a journey.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must Have for Pregant Mommies to Be! Just Fantastic and One of a Kind, March 6, 2009
This review is from: Baby on Board: Becoming a Mother without Losing Yourself-A Guide for Moms-to-Be (Paperback)
Why wasn't this out when I was pregnant? I read this after I had my two babies and still loved it. I listen to the author's (Amy) radio show and wanted to read her book...I recommend it to all my soon-to-be mommy friends. It's just lovely. You walk away feeling confident that you won't loose your true self after baby. What an inspirational read.

I found this book to be very useful and was able to work through all of Amy and Joelle's suggestions about how to prepare for arrival of a baby. I actually read it after I had my 2nd child and wished it had been around when I was pregnant the first time! There is so much a mother/wife/friend/sister/daughter has to prepare for when a new life is brought forward, but so little guidance about how to prepare. This book helps you to start thinking about YOUR new life as a mother and all the other roles you fufill. I think it is a MUST read if you want to give yourself a smooth start.

5.0 out of 5 stars How about Becoming a Mother without Losing Your Mind..., September 18, 2007
This review is from: Baby on Board: Becoming a Mother without Losing Yourself-A Guide for Moms-to-Be (Paperback)
I love this book for a number of reasons. I like their writing style and I particularly love the section on modeling your time, money and space. This is where most of my frustrations have come from in the past. The worksheets in the appendix helped me plan a heck of a lot better than I had been. It's definitely a book that helps you get on track, and stay that way. I will be recommending this book to all my expectant mom friends.
