I love the Babies & Bachelors series and this one did not dissappoint! It was romantic, heart warming and fantastic. Kristi Jensen was born from a wealthy family, her family owned a successful beer distributor. She had a high job, but she earned her way there, she was good at what she did. Mitch has been Kristi's assistant for longer than he should have, he didn't want to leave Kristi, he has loved her for a very long time. One day Mitch requested a transfer for a different position because he thought Kristi was going to get married and he didn't want to be around her then. Turns out Kristi's boyfriend broke up with her, like all her other boyfriends have done in the past. Being depressed, Kristi goes to the company party alone, and so does Mitch. Her parents are always trying to matchmake her with some rich guy and she did not want to hear any of that. Mitch steps in as her date to rescue her from her parents. Soon they both have a wonderful time together and Kristi propositions Mitch for a one night of no strings attached sex, she wanted to feel desired. One night stands were not Mitch's thing, but he's loved her for so long, this was probably the only opportunity he had to be with her ever; he knew her family would never accept him, he came from a working family.
One night had its consecuences and Kristi didn't tell Mitch. She didn't want anyone to know the identity of her baby's father in order to protect Mitch. She knew her father would fire him and end his very promising career at the company and elsewhere. She lets everyone believe the baby was her ex's. Kristi's father wants Kristi to give up her job so she can have time for her baby and be a mother, Kristi didn't want to because she loved her job, so her father recruits Mitch to help her convince Kristi to take leave. Mitch was not sure what to do, his loyalty and feelings for Kristi were too much, but at the same time he was being offered a promotion and a job he really liked. That is when things become complicated. Story has tons of twists and turns and is full of surprises. I could not put this book down and read it in a day! It was refreshing to hear about a man being in love with a woman for a long time and not being able to be with her to finally get his dreams come true. It was wonderful to see how their lives came together, but not without drama and heartache. It was a wonderful read!

Kristi Jenson has grown up with a silver spoon in her mouth; however she has worked hard in her father's company and has earned her executive privileges. Unfortunately her history of relationships is not as successful. When the man she was dating breaks up with her for a stripper the day before the annual year end party, Kristi is convinced by her dear friend that a one-night of passion is just what she needs. Little does she know that the evening of passion and excitement will change her life forever.
Mitch Robbins has worked hard and to his working-class family's chagrin has yet to find a wife and settle. But for Mitch, its hard to settled for just any woman when he has found the one who also happens to be the one he can't have. Mitch kept his attraction to his boss carefully in check. He accepts a promotion to another department and though he knows he can let his feelings known, he believes his boss is out of his league. When Kristi propositions him at the year end party, Mitch thinks his dream has come true - even if it's for one night. Or so he thinks until the big boss - Kristi's father - gives him an opportunity to change his - and Kristi's - life forever. Baby in the Boardroom is a delightful story. Michele has skillfully created wonderful characters, melded humor, love, passion and conflict which will have you turning the pages to see how Kristi, Mitch and a cast of colorful characters overcome the challenges of life to achieve HOA. Don't miss this one! |
