Top marks for cute and top marks for being easy to drink from for an infant. Not perfect however. My baby started his drinking from this cup--he was able to get water from it without sucking like a madman like in the other baby cups I found, which was great! I was so glad about this that I bought another in another pattern. He drinks water from the yellow lid and the blue lid is a "mystery cup" full of juice or whatever, for variety. He started with water from this cup at 6 months, now is an expert at 10 months. Everyone is different, but the avent/tommee tippee stuff drives me nuts because they have up to SIX parts that need to be assembled like a puzzle. I like this model: cup, lid, and little anti-leak thing in the lid that I sometimes rinse. I'm rather surprised someone needed pliers to get it off--but maybe she had a dud. Mine can need to be tugged, but it's not a big deal. A screw top would be great. The issue *I* have is that the lid pops off if baby drops it. I had to get a sippy grip to tie it to the highchair.

Better as a cup,

If you are wondering if you could use this as a two-handled mug for when they are outgrowing a sippy cup (or instead of a sippy), yes. The cup does not have threads to screw on the lid. And maybe that's my problem. The other reviews say the lid is hard to get off once you get it on. I must not be getting it on all the way because the lid comes off very easily for us. It hasn't stayed on for even one drop to the floor from the high chair. I've been using it for water without the gasket in place. But now that my kid is 12 months, I put the gasket in and she is able to drink from it. I'll see if I can get the lid on better so she doesn't have to be so closely supervised with the cup.
