Product Description

Color: Blue

PARENT-POWERED SUCTION provides astonishingly effective mucus removal for your child's congested nose.  The patented tissue filter system is superior to foam rubber filters - and there are no extra filters to buy!  Two soft nose tips are included: Standard and Newborn. The mesh dishwasher/storage pouch allows the aspirator to hygienically dry after washing, then toss into the diaper bag.  Three color choices keeps aspirators separate: ideal for siblings and multiples.  The suction power is limited only by the suction you can draw. Significantly more effective than standard bulb and battery-powered nasal aspirators.  Always safe for the parent and the child because you control the suction.  Dishwasher Safe.  BPA & phthalate-free.  --- Congratulations! You have found the most effective nasal aspirator available on the market today!

Bulb and battery-powered aspirators? Don't bother. Even the best battery-powered ones available don't come close to the suction you can generate with this type of aspirator. I know, we tested them all at work. We did try the nosefrida, which uses the same principle as this one - and it's very good, but the babycomfynose has several advantages: you don't have to buy foam rubber filters because it uses readily available facial tissue (cellulose tissue is actually a much better filter than foam rubber - and free). And the open mesh bag it comes with allows air-drying, which is important because germs thrive on moist and warm and don't survive on dry surfaces. (As a nurse, I have some experience with these things). The babycomfynose folks got this absolutely right.

And this is actually a major problem with the Frida. They advertise the admittedly nice quality plastic case as a storage container but what comes to mind is a petri dish. What seemed like a useful feature is actually a hazard if you don't sterilize and dry the aspirator perfectly before you put it in the case - and that's very hard to do in the laboratory, let alone the bathroom or kitchen.

The instructional video on the babycomfynose website is useful. Our baby wasn't quite as docile as the one in the video, but we got just as much snot out, or more. Unbelievable.

Overall good design and definitely a superior product than the Nose Frida. I heard that Baby Comfy Nose was coming out with a smaller newborn nose tip, but ours only had the standard large nose tip in the box. I called Baby Comfy Nose (texted actually) and they immediately sent me a replacement set of tips, new tubing and mesh bag for free. They said that there were other sellers that still stocked the old version that doesn't have the newborn tip. This was very inconvenient for us as I paid extra for overnight shipping because we needed it right away. I guess it is not their fault so much as Green Apple Baby who sold it. First we tried Nose Frida and the nose opening is hard plastic and way too large for newborns. The advantage of Baby Comfy Nose is that you can swap out the two soft nose tips and this is what we had counted on. Also, you can use tissue in the Comfy Nose and you have to buy sad little filters for the Nose Frida. At first we put too much tissue in it and it blocked the suction and I complained to them about that and they recommended using only one square of toilet tissue. Their instructions could be better - but in the end it works really well. Note that there is a learning curve involved in using Baby Comfy Nose. You have to get the hang of it and kind of have to figure it out yourself. I would suggest to them that they need to have better instructions and keep better track of the different versions of their product. The video is really useful and tells you everything you need to know, but when you really need to use it for a sick child, you don't think to watch a video. Better instructions on the box would be helpful.

This really does work better than the bulb I got from the hospital. I wish it worked a little better though but that may not happen until the kid can blow. My issues with it are the long tube. Why does it need to be so long? When you have to hold your child down to suck out the snot, you tend to be pretty close to them and it has gotten kinked a few times which makes it hard to suck. The other problem is cleaning it. I love that you can use a tissue as the filter but most of the snot stays in the nose tip. So to get it out you have to soak in warm water. The thing is you have to have something b/c these kids are always stuffed up and can't sleep when stuffed up. So if you want to get any sleep get one of these. Did I mention you get to use tissues as filters with this one. The other one you have to buy their filters to replace.

I love that I can use a tissue as a filter rather that having to buy filters with the Nose Frida. I also feel it's much easier to clean. My only problem is the tube keeps detaching from the mouthpiece. It's hard to hold on to the bulb, the baby, and the mouthpiece.

This is my first review for a product that I have purchased from Amazon and due to this sucker's (no pun intended) worthiness, I felt compelled to share the love for this product! When I gave birth to my son nearly three months ago, myself, my husband and our 3 year old daughter all had colds, ergo, our son caught one too. The squeeze bulb syringe I received from the hospital just didn't do the trick in getting out the goo that was in his nose. I saw this and, on a whim, purchased it and I am GLAD that I did so. No filters to mess with, you put a piece of facial tissue in the receptacle, place the tip up to your infant's nose and suck on the mouthpiece. Ta-da! Snot! I recommend using saline solution for little noses to loosen up things before you use this. I used this with our daughter and, though she hated it (I think it was the sensation of the snot leaving her nose that freaked her out, I'm not sure), it removed ALOT of gunk so that she could breathe better. Bottom line, this device is a good investment, it's effective, you can take it apart to clean and disinfect and, most importantly, it WORKS. Advice: you will need to find what works for you in regards to effective mucous removal. My husband does strong, steady pulls whereas I prefer to use short, quick pulls when sucking on the mouthpiece. If you have any reservations about this product then check out their website for more information. I wish I would've had this for when our daughter was younger. Excellent, excellent product.
