The baby deedee sleep nest is a baby sleeping bag that keeps infants and toddlers warm and cozy while sleeping. Sleeping bags for babies, also called baby sleep sacks or baby wearable blankets, replace loose blankets in the crib and help babies stay warm throughout the night. i ordered this after going through several sleep nests. i've used summer infant, aden & anais, and halo innovations. my baby's room gets pretty cold at night (we live in san francisco and sonoma county) and i typically have to keep a space heater in the rom to keep her warm. i don't like using blankets because she tends to twist herself in them and i don't feel it's safe overall. the aden & anais sleep sacks are super soft, but they wear out and snag easily. halo and summer infant sleep sacks are fine, but they don't keep my baby as warm as i'd like. she wakes up very cool to the touch and her hands are icicles.
with the deedee sleep sack, none of the aforementioned problems exist. she's warm, but not over-heated. the temperature in her room dips between 65-69 degrees and the deedee sleep sacks do great. for reference, i put her in cotton pajamas at night. during the colder nights, i'll put socks on her and if it's not too cold, i'll put her in a onesie with no socks.
the deedee sleep sack was pricey, but it's worth every penny. one thing i've noticed is that it seems to run small, but my baby is long for her age. she's 9 months old and about 22 pounds and i ordered the large. i originally got the medium, and though it fit, she would have outgrown it in about a month. the large is HUGE, but at least she can use it for a while. also, the large does not have the handy button tabs at the shoulders. other than a couple of small points, this is the perfect sleep sack. i will be purchasing this again for our next baby and will be giving them as gifts to my friends. great product!

This sleepsack is nice and warm, and easy to get on and off with the shoulder snaps. It is actually fluffier than I expected and seems quite cozy. I don't understand why these things have to be so expensive, but there didn't seem to be any better priced options that were this warm.
I bought the 6-18 month size for my 10th percentile 13 month old thinking it should fit him through the winter no problem. It doesn't have a lot more room for him to grow, and I'm not sure it will fit for another 4 months.
I bought it to replace a Halo sleepsack which was not warm enough for winter in our house. My son could easily walk around in the Halo sack since it is relatively wide at the bottom. The Baby Deedee sleep sack is close fitting and does not really allow him to walk. The first morning in it, I found him standing awkwardkly in his crib with his feet far from the side, leaning over to hang on the side. I think he was stuck! We probably need to modify our bedtime routine to put the sleep sack on just before saying goodnight (instead of at the same time as pj's, then picking out books to read, etc.), but I still think the lack of mobility in it is going to be a problem.
I would give it more stars if the cut was more generous in terms of sizing and allowing for mobility.

Previously our 10 month old was using a micro fleece Halo Sleep Sack which he wore with long footed pyjamas. Not only do I think that was not enough warmth for the Connecticut winter but it had so much static electricity (even when I used fabric softener) it would spark at night and I'm sure that was waking him up.
Since we got the Baby Deedee he has actually been sleeping much better and we even lowered the thermostat 2 degrees to 70 degrees fahrenheit. No sparks and he seems quite cozy. Not sure if it's a coicidence or not but I'm not going to change anything since a sleeping baby is a beautiful thing!
I still put him in long sleeved footed p.j.s with the Baby Deedee over it. It's more consistent with what my husband and I sleep with - p.j.s plus sheets and a comforter with a duvet cover. The baby hasn't seemed too hot or anything - just cozy.
