I bought this book when I was an education major in college. The text in this book is very simple, so it is easy for little ones to understand.

What really caught my eye were the pictures. There are paintings, drawings and photos. My favorite picture in the book is a photo of a little duckling. The camera can see above and below the water, so the picture is just awesome.

The pictures are worth it. There are different colors, different kinds of birds, different textures. I think that it is a really creative way to introduce a child to art.

The best way to encourage a child to read is to have books in the home.

This book is small - about 3" square. It's the perfect size for little hands. I gave the book to my daughter at 8 months. She loves to hold it in her lap and "read" it. The thick pages are easy to turn and the book is just the right size for her to hold - many other books are too large for her to control. Each page has a different "style" of picture - a drawing, a photograph, an artistic rendering...with a simple phrase to go with each ("All birds have feathers", "This bird can swim"). This book is also a great take-along toy, you can slip it into a diaper bag or even a small purse.

We were so let down when we received this tiny little board book. Though most of the (6) illustrations are sweet, they are much too small to be appreciated. The text is terribly dull and silly, and the book does not "flow" at all. Our 15-month old (who LOVES both books and birds) has no interest at all in this book, and neither do we.

My advice is to avoid this book and instead go for "About Birds: A Guide for Children" by Cathryn Sill (also for sale on Amazon). Unlike this book "About Birds" has lots of beautifully illustrated pages, and interesting text that holds our toddler's interest and keeps him wanting more.

This is a wonderful little book for my daughter. It is a little book, but than again, so are her hands.

This is such a sweet little board book about birds. The images are unique, definitely not the kind of artwork you see just anywhere. Thumbing through this board book with your wee one is like taking a visit to an art gallery and aviary all in one! I especially love the last work of art- you'll just have to check this book out to see what it is! This book is the perfect size for little hands and the pages are easy to turn. Give it with Baby Einstein's Babies, Cats and Dogs mini board books for a great little board book starter set. Babies love to stack them up, too!

My son really loves this series of small books by Baby Einstein. He spends a lot of time in "reading" them, especially at night before going to bed.

My daughter *loves* this book. I didn't think she would not like it per say, but I didn't realize she would enjoy it to the extent that she does. It is little, perfect for her little hands to hold. Plus, it is a picture of birds from various pieces of art. It is a beautiful little book. I highly recommend it.

Good for kids to know different sorts of birds. Small book for small hands. baby Einstein books are always good. This one though, is not exceptional. I probably would not buy it again for somebody else..

I'm not a fan of mini books. I must have missed that in the description that this is a tiny book. Maybe it's good for travel? But my 15 month old son loves big pictures. The book itself is quite cute, but it's just so small. Maybe a couple inches tall.
