Great Toy!,

This review is from: Baby Einstein Discover & Play Star (Baby Product)
We received the Baby Einsten Star as a gift for our infant. He LOVES it! At 5 weeks, it was really the only toy that captured his attention for any length of time. He loves the blinking cheeks and the music. It can instantly change him from fussy to happy. At 7 weeks he now reaches out to touch the different sides, and the smiling face. I like that this toy will grow with him. The sides require different actions to achieve the sound effect, i.e. one is pull, one push, two squeeze. At first I was opposed to toys like this with flashing lights and all the "bells and whistles." When you are so small though, that all you can do is watch your toy while mommy shows you how it works, the lights and bells and whistles are captivating!

We got this toy as a gift and I have to say it entrances my little tykes. I am a mom of twins so I need all the help i can get. HOWEVER-- the music on the top star point that plays twinkle twinkle is SO obnoxious. It plays: twinkle, twinkle....twinkle twinkle....twinkle twinkle little star...etc. it drives me nuts. That said I like the english, french and spanish phrases that baby can play: good morning and good night in each language, crickets chirping and rooster crowing. But the music...arg!

This discover and play star was both my daughter's and son's favorite baby toy!! My daughter wanted to bring it with her every where we went and it kept her focused for long periods. My son reacted to it almost the same way, except he didn't just want it with him all the time, he INSISTED we have it with him everywhere we went!

Of all the toys we own, this was the very first toy that completely captivated my son starting around when he was three months old. The red cheeks light up and he was fascinated with it from the very first time he saw it!
Our daycare doesn't allow toys from home....so I bought another and "donated" it to them so it technically was no longer a toy from home. Over a year later, all the kids still play with it, it's held up exceptionally well and the new babies are just as fascinated with it as my son was. The only thing I wish they would improve would be a way to better fasten it to the handle of a car seat so kids can play with it in the car. We figured out a way to secure it so it wouldn't bump his head when it was hanging and he was soooooo happy! It was even the first toy that he would smile at...... If you have a baby where car rides are tough, this toy is a must have!

This toy has many sound options. It is initially bigger than I expected but it's good for a baby. The strip makes it easy to hang it with a mobile.

I had already purchased this as a crib toy for my daughter and her grandmother insisted on having an extra one for her house because the baby LOVES it.

I bought this for my 2mth old and he's 4 mths now still loving it. He really likes when it's pushed and says "good morning". It's a higher pitched female voice (like mommy) which little ones respond to. He smiles every time I push it for him and he really likes the big "face" in the middle. One of his favs! Highly recommend

Versatile, educational toy,

The Baby Einstein Star is the first toy that my baby smiled at. She loved looking at the red blinking lights and hearing the music by Mozart-that we commonly know as "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star." The great thing about this toy, besides the English, French, and Spanish "Good Morning" and "Good Night," is that it is versatile. It can be hooked onto a crib, carseat, or baby gym where a baby can play with it lying down. This is also a great toy for a baby who can sit up. Although my baby never played with the attached ribbons (on the top left and right points of the star) when she was younger, these ribbons fascinate her now (at 7 months). This is a toy that can capture the interest of your baby from the first months to about one year of age, possibly later.

I love this star and my 7 month old baby loves it too! She's had this toy since she was about 3 months. It started off as a great toy for us parents to push the buttons and her to watch, now it's turned into the best crib toy ever! My daughter loves to play with this and push buttons after she wakes from a nap/sleep. Prior to it being a crib toy, we used it along side her normal play toys. It's really a cute toy. The 'red glowing cheeks' just make my daughter smile brightly!

Good Toy, Bad Fastener,

I bought this for my daugther when she was around 10 months old. She had begun playing in her crib when she woke up and any toy that would extend that playtime so I could enjoy a few more z's was good in my book. Although the toy seems like it would be a lot of fun, it is held on the crib by velcro. Does anyone see anything wrong with this? When an active baby/toddler pulls on the toy to get it to make noise, it instantly comes off the crib rail and falls into the crib. I was VERY disappointed as I instantly stopped putting it in her crib and now it just sits in her toybox. A good idea for a toy but a waste of money with the current design. I guess younger babies would not pull as hard on it, but what is the point if you can't get your use out of it?
