The BEST bouncer seat on the market,
By
This review is from: Baby Einstein Discovering Water Rocker Seat (Baby Product)
With our first baby we had the Ocean Wonders Aquarium Bouncer, which was great but I knew I wanted to try a different one with our next baby. After looking at many different bouncers on the market this is the best bouncer we found.
First, this not only vibrates but it is a rocker. The weight limit is up to 40 pounds so it will grow to a toddler chair, getting a lot of use out of it. It has four nature sounds, 4 classical music selections, 4 other classical music selections from the "Baby Neptune" dvd. But you are also able to hook up your IPod or other portable MP3 player and play any music you want to. GENIOUS! The toys are cute on one side there is an octopus that has different types of activity tentacles, a rattle, a squeeker toy etc. On the other side is a toy bar with a star fish/mirror, puffer fish that squeeks and a crab that rattles. The toys both come off and move out of the way when your child doesnt want to play with them anymore. My 2 year old is in love with this toy and my newborn loves the vibrating sensation. If you want a bouncer that grows with your child, rocks and vibrates, has never ending music options and toys that encourage play not just something to zone out to than this is for you.

Perfect for an older/larger baby!,

We just got this for our six month old son as he has really out grown the traditional bouncer. He still naps in the bouncy seat so I hated to lose it. This is perfect. He actually looks small in it and he is a really big guy for his age (around 20lbs & 28 inches)! Lots of room to grow. The vibration is great and all the different songs/sounds are nice. The fact that you can change them manually or even hook up your iPod for more variety is great! He looks VERY comfortable in it and likes the toys it came with. It was a little bit of a pain to put together as the screws seemed to be the wrong size but my husband was able to work around that. The pad removes easily so it should be easy to wash. I think it would be fine for a newborn if you added a head support pillow, which you need to do with a lot of bouncy seats anyway. I think this seat has the "most bang for your buck" that I have seen yet.

Brilliant!,

Our son used a Fisher-Price rocker for the first three months of his life. He really was uninterested in it ... the toys were not interactive at all, and the seat looked uncomfortable. Additionally, it was difficult for mom and dad to use, as its design made placing him and removing him from the seat a chore.
The people who designed this rocker, however, did an excellent job. The seat is a soft cushion that is large and plush (as noted in other reviews, the seat may be too big for newborns and small babies), which for our big baby was perfect. He still had plenty of room to grow! The toys that came with the rocker are also well designed, and encourage baby to interact with them. The starfish has a mirror, the lobster has a rattle, and the puffenfish can squeak when squeezed. The octopus is removable (again, great idea), and has different toys on each of his tentacles. The seat itself looks and feels extraordinarily comfortable, and the vibration function does not rattle a child's bones when new batteries are installed (The Fisher-Price chair had this problem -- if we left the vibrations on and lifted baby out, the chair would "scoot" across the floor for the first week as the vibrations were just jarring). Finally, the coup de grace for this product is the audio system. The chair comes with melodies and nature sounds that you can play at three volumes to create babies' own audio experience. In a act of tremendous foresight, Baby Einstein added a cable to allow you to hook up a portable CD or Mp3 player to the chair. The chair can hold up to 40 lbs, and I can think of few 40 lb children that would want to listen to Water Melodies over and over again. This allows the parents to use the child's favorite music for a more customized, personal experience. My son already has no doubt that this is "his" chair! Now to the things that were wrong with the chair: Expect the instructions to be so thorough to the point of treating you like an idiot. Putting the chair together is common sense, but the instructions literally take four or five steps to tell you which piece snaps where. The "nature sounds" also sound manufactured, almost as if they hired someone to make "mouth sounds" into a microphone for a few minutes, and then looped it. Finally, my only other complaint is that the toys on the toy bar (which swings out of the way --- great!) are a little too crowded. It's difficult for young babies to see them all and all of their features from where they sit. My advice: the only problems with this chair are incredibly minor. Spend the extra money and get this great product!

I have purchased Baby Einstein products before so I expected nothing but the best out of this bouncy seat. My newborn son, now 4 months old, didn't like our previous Einstein bouncy seat that our daughter enjoyed so I went searching for something new. He was a preemie so he didn't like the upright seat of the regular bouncers and preferred to lay back just a little. He absolutely LOVES this seat!! It reclines just enough for him to sit comfortably in it, yet sits up enough for him to play. He has taken numerous naps listening to the nature sounds all while he vibrates. My 18 month old also loves this seat, and she too has taken a few naps in it being that it's so comfy. The only thing I would improve are the toys and the chair's rocking ability. The octopus falls out entirely too easy and is completely out of reach for an infant. The chair also doesn't rock enough to soothe a fussy baby. Other than that, I think i'm getting every penney's worth out of this chair.

My wife already reviewed this item much more succinctly, but since I love to hear the sound of my own voice, I thought I'd give this video review a shot. Short version: not so great to put together, the accessories pull off too easily, but the MP3 functionality can't be beat!

Our son was 3 months old and already 24 inches and 16 lbs. He outgrew his Fisher Price Papasan but it was his favorite. This chair is much bigger, he has plenty of room to grow still. It's easy to assemble, very solid in construction, plays great music and the volume can be adjusted. You can also hook up your ipod to it to play music. It doesn't fold down so transporting is not that easy.

Wonderful Seat,

We actually got this chair for free by redeeming American Express points for Toys r Us gift certificates. I would, in a second, pay for this chair. It is wonderful. We got him a bouncer at Baby Depot that was absolutely horrible and went looking for something better. It holds a lot of weight, grows with your child, and is safe...no leaning forward out of it or falling out of the side. We hook up our Mp3 player so he can listen to more music, although the assortment it comes with is great already. Well worth the money...and the vibrating is nice, too, and I don't feel that it is too loud.

Great Rocker Seat,
This review is from: Baby Einstein Discovering Water Rocker Seat (Baby Product)
I was looking for a rocker/bouncing seat for my 5 month old. He loved his previous bouncing seat, however he outgrew it. I found the Baby Einstein Water Rocker which holds up to 40 lbs. So he can enjoy it as he grows. This seat comes with cute toys for him to play with. As well as multiple choices of music to be played. It also vibrates and rocks or can be set up to not rock. A nice feature about this rocker is that you can also hook up a cd player to it so your baby can listen to whatever you want. It has a sturdy frame and comes in a nice fabric. I would recommend this seat. I wish I knew about it first before I had bought his previous bouncing chair.

Not A Rocker,
By Chalkingham (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Baby Einstein Discovering Water Rocker Seat (Baby Product)
I should have paid attention to the reviews I read on here before I purchased this "rocker". But it was just too cute to turn down. My 5 month old son weighs almost 20lbs, so a typical bouncy seat was becoming un-usable. So I looked into getting this. When people tell you in these reviews that this seat doesn't rock, they aren't kidding. It doesn't move at all. I'm not sure what the point is of the kickstand since the stupid thing doesn't move anyways. It is really cute, and my son does like the little toys, but I'm not sure that it was worth the $59 I paid for it. If you want a bright colorful seat that will hold up to 40lbs, buy it. If you want a rocker, look somewhere else!

We ordered this seat for our 5 month old son to use at his caregiver's house. It looked roomy and entertaining. However, when we assembled it and put him in there, he was able to yank out the toy bar with one yank. Every time I'd replace it and try to put it in tighter, he could still pull it out, sometimes knocking the toys in his face. Our dog was even able to knock it out by just nudging the bar with her nose. Overall, it just didn't seem safe and didn't hold his attention for long. Plus it's overpriced. I much prefer his initial (and much cheaper) seat, the Fisher Price Infant to Toddler Rocker (you can hang other toys and links off the bar and it stays put).
