The good: the 4 double pages are nice.

The bad: Children under 1 year can easily rip the pop up paper characters or farm gates and eat them. Music doesn't always play after pushing the animal faces.

The ugly: the sounds played by each animal are bad imitation of classical symphonies (less than 30sec). This part has NO EDUCATIONAL purpose. Animal sounds would have been much better.

This book would be much better if the sounds were more appropriate for what the book is talking about. If the picture shows a cow, and the words are talking about a cow, wouldn't it make more sense for the sounds to be that of a cow. Instead what you hear is a ridiculously long, loud, knock-off of a classical symphony. By the time the music is done playing, my baby has crawled off to more interesting things. The other review is right the music serves no educational purpose, and loses my baby's interest as well as mine.

My son was given this book when he was 1 year old and he has loved it for the last year. The only draw back is the pictues pop out and he ripped them when he was younger, but we bought another copy because he enjoyed this book so much.

This book is recommended for kids 18 months and above, however my 2 month old is amazed with this book. She loves the music and stares at the animals with the most intense glares. It calms her when she is upset. I am getting more Baby Einstein music books for this so I can have a bit of variety in the songs!

My son and I give this book a "thumbs up!" He loves the music, and can push the buttons himself. I like the story, and he seems to like it, too. The only drawback is that we gave it to him a little soon (at 12 months), and he ripped most of the pop-ups out. Even though the pictures are gone, he still picks it out for me to read to him. I would definitely not give it to a child who's younger than 18 months.

My ten month old has loved this book from day one. We recieved it as a baby shower gift. When she was 2 months old and screaming, I pushed one of the animals and she instantly stopped crying. She has since torn the pictures, only because I let her, she just loves this book, and so do I. I take this book everywhere.

This book is very cute and well put together. It rhymes and every page is short and to the point. The pop ups are adorable my little on just loved it. The music is nice, a little loud though I just put a piece of tape over the area. I really enjoyed it--oh and so did my 16 mo. old!

We bought this for our daughter and friends' babies as a gift. None worked in the beginning. So we called the seller (Toys-r-us) and obtained replacements. Same thing. So we bought a few sets of batteries (advertised with the product), then BOOM! they all worked great... until 2-6 days later, they all died. Now it is very obvious, they want to use this as bait to sell batteries; OR the design is fundamentally problematic: there is no switch on/off button, so it is always on, and the whole thing uses too much battery power even if it is not played. That's why the original products and the replacements were all dry on battery when we received them. The batteries are almost as expensive as the product..., so it is not worth buying AT ALL. A cheap shoddy gadget designed to rip people off.

The combination of the pop up feature and music makes this book a little gem. My little one grins ear to ear everytime we read it to her!

This book is great! Just like the first reviewer, my 4 month old was spellbound by the music and pop-up pictures. Shes now a year old and its still one of her favorite books. I have NO idea what the 1 star reviewer was talking about. I couldn't even understand her review.
