Makes 2 kids laugh,
By Jackie "Jackie" (Madison, WI) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Baby Einstein - Baby Monet - Discovering the Seasons (DVD)
Baby Monet is a good addition to the series and is in the familiar Baby Einstein format - adorable puppet sequences kept my 6 mos old and 2 1/2 year old girls in hysterics (similar to pigs in the mud on Baby McDonald, most are very clever). Zebra characters that change colors with the seasons very cute. Heavy on the gorgeous nature footage, as an adult enjoyed that, interested 2 year old more than the baby. Seems they reused the some of same music tract from Vivaldi's Four Seasons from other DVDs, but it's the Four Seasons so that's fine and reusing music certainly doesn't matter to toddlers. This one was a hit with my kids, and different enough from the rest of the Einstein series that it warrants a purchase ... we have every Baby Einstein DVD and my girls from 2 months on love all of them, even Galileo. Advertising of Little Einstein before the show starts will get to be annoying over time though. Otherwise, a worthwhile purchase. Glad to have something else in the rotation for my 6 month old who watches Bach, Beethoven, Mozart and Einstein over and over ... there definately is something behind the age tags on the DVDs, baby is not into Doolittle, Shakespeare, etc. yet.

Get ready to be disappointed!,

This review is from: Baby Einstein - Baby Monet - Discovering the Seasons (DVD)
We have all been waiting for this new DVD from the Baby Einstein group....we were very disappointed! Definitely more for the 6 month group than infants any older or toddlers. Very basic in some ways but then very advanced with lots of stills of Monet works. Very little action compared to Neptune, Noah & Galileo. Anyway, make your own decision but I don't recommend wasting the money. BORING!!!!!

Lacks the energy of earlier titles; not as engaging for baby,

Having purchased every one of the Baby Einstein DVDs made thus far, we had high hopes for this offering featuring my iwfe's favorite artist. However, our 7-month old son found this particular DVD nowhere near as interesting as he does the others. He woudn't last longer than five minutes before being distracted by anything else he could find in the room, as opposed to rapt attention during Baby Neptune (his favorite), Baby MacDonald, or the big three of Bach, Beethoven and Mozart.
Since some folks have mentioned it, I have no problem with the commercial at the beginning, especially since you can just skip to the next chapter/ beginning of the Baby Monet feature. While a big fan of the series, I am disappointed by the reaction from my son, and don't plan on playing this one that often since he didn't seem to enjoy it.

This is my least favorite Baby Einstein DVD. I bought it with great anticipation that my 11 month old would enjoy it as he has all of his other DVD's. I found this one to be slow, which is fine is that can keep your baby's attention, but my son watched a couple minutes of this one and started playing. I also was confused by the music at the end - it was very upbeat and fast, but definitely not "classical".
All of these comments though are just a matter of personal preference, as I think all comments regarding these DVD's are - if your baby likes them, great, but mine just didn't like this newest one.

The best Baby Einstein DVD for older infants!!!,
This review is from: Baby Einstein - Baby Monet - Discovering the Seasons (DVD)
Yes, the commercials are crass, but once you get past that this DVD is one of the best especially for older infants. I started showing my son Baby Bach and Baby Mozart around 3 months (along with a few others, but I think those two are thest best for young infants.) Around 4 months I wanted to introduce my son to a little more mature viewing. Monet is recommended for 6 months and above, and it was around 5 months that this became his absolute favorite. At 9 months now, this DVD is still his favorite. The puppets are incredibly cute and funny, the music is pretty good, and the visuals are stunning. It is my favorite to watch also!! I would HIGHLY recommend this to slightly older babies. Baby McDonald is okay, but I am still waiting for Baby Neptune to grab his attention. For babies under 5 months, I think Bach and Mozart are the best.

Of all the Baby Einsteins, this is my personal favorite. My 2 year old loves it too and now my 1 year old is into it. It's not one of the Einsteins that babies will be really interested in (remember to check out what ages it is appropriate for). I believe this one was for ages 1+ and it is a favorite in this house! The music isn't as annoying as some of the earlier additions. I actually enjoy listening to it while I'm trying to make dinner in the kitchen. :o)

I'm not sure why this is getting negative reviews because we love it. My 17-month-old son will even watch it twice in a row. He giggles like crazy when the zebras are dancing around the May Pole in Spring. He loves it!

FABULOUS!,

This is my personal favorite of the Baby Einstein DVD's! The puppets are cute and extremely entertaining. Personally, I think there are plenty of Monet paintings. They've done a great job with balance in this title, between the paintings, scenery and puppet shows. This DVD caught my daughters attention since she was 5 months old. She's now 8 months and still LOVES it. She'll laugh with the puppets and relax with the gorgeous scenery showcasing all the seasons. A definite MUST HAVE of the Baby Einstein collection!

My son is 7 months old and has loved this DVD since day one! He loves the zebras and will start laughing when they come on every single time we watch it. I don't know what the pop music reference is about... I didn't notice any pop music. It's all Vivaldi's Four Seasons isn't it?? This is our first Einstein DVD so if what everyone is saying is true, I can't wait to buy the others!!

I've read the other reviews, but I disagree. My 1 year old likes this movie. We've got them all, and she likes this one just as much as Baby Neptune (which is her favorite). I guess it just depends on your child. Looking on the up side, if you child doesn't like the movie, you can always try to sell it on ebay! At any rate, my daughter likes this movie and anything she enjoys I write a positive review about. So, good luck!
