4.0 out of 5 stars Makes 2 kids laugh, March 12, 2005
Baby Monet is a good addition to the series and is in the familiar Baby Einstein format - adorable puppet sequences kept my 6 mos old and 2 1/2 year old girls in hysterics (similar to pigs in the mud on Baby McDonald, most are very clever). Zebra characters that change colors with the seasons very cute. Heavy on the gorgeous nature footage, as an adult enjoyed that, interested 2 year old more than the baby. Seems they reused the some of same music tract from Vivaldi's Four Seasons from other DVDs, but it's the Four Seasons so that's fine and reusing music certainly doesn't matter to toddlers. This one was a hit with my kids, and different enough from the rest of the Einstein series that it warrants a purchase ... we have every Baby Einstein DVD and my girls from 2 months on love all of them, even Galileo. Advertising of Little Einstein before the show starts will get to be annoying over time though. Otherwise, a worthwhile purchase. Glad to have something else in the rotation for my 6 month old who watches Bach, Beethoven, Mozart and Einstein over and over ... there definately is something behind the age tags on the DVDs, baby is not into Doolittle, Shakespeare, etc. yet.

1.0 out of 5 stars Get ready to be disappointed!, March 14, 2005
We have all been waiting for this new DVD from the Baby Einstein group....we were very disappointed! Definitely more for the 6 month group than infants any older or toddlers. Very basic in some ways but then very advanced with lots of stills of Monet works. Very little action compared to Neptune, Noah & Galileo. Anyway, make your own decision but I don't recommend wasting the money. BORING!!!!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Lacks the energy of earlier titles; not as engaging for baby, April 1, 2005

Having purchased every one of the Baby Einstein DVDs made thus far, we had high hopes for this offering featuring my iwfe's favorite artist. However, our 7-month old son found this particular DVD nowhere near as interesting as he does the others. He woudn't last longer than five minutes before being distracted by anything else he could find in the room, as opposed to rapt attention during Baby Neptune (his favorite), Baby MacDonald, or the big three of Bach, Beethoven and Mozart.

Since some folks have mentioned it, I have no problem with the commercial at the beginning, especially since you can just skip to the next chapter/ beginning of the Baby Monet feature. While a big fan of the series, I am disappointed by the reaction from my son, and don't plan on playing this one that often since he didn't seem to enjoy it.
