Perfect Touch & Feel Book for Older Infants-1st Graders, April 20, 2005
This review is from: Baby Einstein: Violet's House: A Giant Touch-and-Feel Book (Board book)
I agree with the other reviewers. This book is awesome! The illustrations, short, simple rhymes on each page, and variety of tactile activities (including scented toothpaste and "sticky paints") all combine to make this a favorite of my 14 month-old's, who, by the way, began to get interested in this book at about 10 months. This book follows a little mouse through various rooms in her house as she plays, eats, bathes, and goes to sleep. I recommend this book for older babies because the pages are very busy and the book is extremely large (it will probably be one of the largest you own). Younger babies prefer simple page designs and books they can hold. Violet's House is definitely a keeper - a book your baby, preschooler, and early reader will enjoy. Buy it!

One Of My Daughters Favorite Books, September 29, 2006
This review is from: Baby Einstein: Violet's House: A Giant Touch-and-Feel Book (Board book)
I got this book for my daughter a little after she turned 1. She loved it then, and she still loves it (she is now 2 years old).
Every page of the book has different objects and textures to touch and feel.
Page 1: regular fabric of the chair, smooth fabric of the curtains, knit fabric of the sweater and dog's fluffy head.
Pages 1-2: smooth cup, real sponge, shiny toaster (you can look in it like in a mirror).
Pages 3-4: fur on a bear, sticky fingerpaints, and apron fabric you can pull and move around.
Pages 5-6: towel fabric, rubber duck, fleece rug and toothpaste (the toothpaste is supposed to smell like mint, but it doesn't smell like anything in our book - maybe this book sat on a shelf for a long time and the smell went away...)
Page 7-8: quilt fabric, doll's hair.
This book is large, colorful and sturdy. I've seen other touch and feel books, but none of them compare to this one.

The best touch & feel book we have!, March 21, 2005
This review is from: Baby Einstein: Violet's House: A Giant Touch-and-Feel Book (Board book)
We bought this for our 10 month son and from day one he has ADORED it. Even now, at 12 months, he's still facinated, particularly with the 'sticky' finger paints and the yarn hair of the doll. This is one of the best touch & feel books I've ever seen. Couldn't recommend it more!
