Perfect Touch & Feel Book for Older Infants-1st Graders,
This review is from: Baby Einstein: Violet's House: A Giant Touch-and-Feel Book (Board book)
I agree with the other reviewers. This book is awesome! The illustrations, short, simple rhymes on each page, and variety of tactile activities (including scented toothpaste and "sticky paints") all combine to make this a favorite of my 14 month-old's, who, by the way, began to get interested in this book at about 10 months. This book follows a little mouse through various rooms in her house as she plays, eats, bathes, and goes to sleep. I recommend this book for older babies because the pages are very busy and the book is extremely large (it will probably be one of the largest you own). Younger babies prefer simple page designs and books they can hold. Violet's House is definitely a keeper - a book your baby, preschooler, and early reader will enjoy. Buy it!

One Of My Daughters Favorite Books,
This review is from: Baby Einstein: Violet's House: A Giant Touch-and-Feel Book (Board book)
I got this book for my daughter a little after she turned 1. She loved it then, and she still loves it (she is now 2 years old).
Every page of the book has different objects and textures to touch and feel. Page 1: regular fabric of the chair, smooth fabric of the curtains, knit fabric of the sweater and dog's fluffy head. Pages 1-2: smooth cup, real sponge, shiny toaster (you can look in it like in a mirror). Pages 3-4: fur on a bear, sticky fingerpaints, and apron fabric you can pull and move around. Pages 5-6: towel fabric, rubber duck, fleece rug and toothpaste (the toothpaste is supposed to smell like mint, but it doesn't smell like anything in our book - maybe this book sat on a shelf for a long time and the smell went away...) Page 7-8: quilt fabric, doll's hair. This book is large, colorful and sturdy. I've seen other touch and feel books, but none of them compare to this one.

The best touch & feel book we have!,

We bought this for our 10 month son and from day one he has ADORED it. Even now, at 12 months, he's still facinated, particularly with the 'sticky' finger paints and the yarn hair of the doll. This is one of the best touch & feel books I've ever seen. Couldn't recommend it more!

Like many babies, I have a very active 9-month-old who cannot stay engaged with an activity for more than a few minutes. Baby Einstein has been a lifesaver for me. This huge touch and feel book keeps her in my lap for two whole readings! Each page has something for her to touch and stay engaged with. The pages are different rooms of a house, so eventually she will be able to relate to it even more. It is by far her favorite book and the one I attribute to for her now staying still for a couple of other books too. We have Dr. Suess and Baby Einstein board books, and while I know she'll grow into the Dr. Suess books, the Baby Einstein books work like a charm each time. It is important to have this time with her and for her to become interested in books (or at least familiar with them).
I also highly recommend the small Baby Einstein board books: "Cats," "Dogs," and "Babies." And unfortunately, the other Baby Einstien giant touch and feel book, "Old MacDonald" is not half as good.

an enchanting experience for my special needs son,

This book offers much fun to children of many different ages. My son who is only 23 months old, and severely disabled, loves this book. He likes to touch the different household objects and look at the pictures.
I would also reccomend Baby Einstein's Baby Wordsworth for parents of special needs kids. That DVD has signs of many different every day household objects and fun puppet skits! My son loves baby einstein, I highly reccomend it!

A Favorite in Our House,

This review is from: Baby Einstein: Violet's House: A Giant Touch-and-Feel Book (Board book)
This book was a gift, which my 14-month old daughter recently pulled off the bookshelf and instantly loved. Although she usually is not interested in having books "read" to her, she loves when the scenes are described to her, and she can find and point out the objects on the pages. Each room in "Violet's House" has lots of objects for me to name, and for her to point to. She also loves touching the interesting textures on every page. Almost every morning, she wakes up and goes for this book. Highly recommended!

The poems are great with a wonderful flow. Plenty of very different things for baby to feel, my 6 mo old likes it (good for tough/grabbing little hands). Each page has quite a few of the things to touch so the child will not get bored - so many textures to explore.

My son is 14 months old and for the past several months this has been his absolute favorite book. I was skeptical when we received it as a baby gift. Baby Einstein is so commercialized here that I thought, surely it'll be all hype. Not so! Each page has different textures and things for him to touch and feel-- a wooly sweater, squishy sponge, sticky fingerpaints. 3-4 things on each page with little verses to go with. The text flows smoothly with a nice rhythm and his fingers move from texture to texture as we go through the verses. He can't get enough! I highly recommend this book.

baby einstein stuff is so great- but this book is excellent. My two year old loves it and never tires of it. It is really well made, easy and fun to read. You can really go off and talk about how it relates to you and your house. I recommend. We buy a lot of books and have had some disapointments in the past. This is a great buy.
