Editorial Reviews

From the Back Cover

America's leading pediatricians and health experts agree—BabyFacts is a must for parents! It reveals and dispels many of the dangerous myths that persist about the health of young children.

"There may be more urban myths about parenting than any other category. . . . BabyFacts takes those myths and shatters them and leaves us with the truth in their place. What a wonderful book for every parent and all those doctors, too."
Nancy L. Snyderman, M.D., NBC News Chief Medical Editor

"BabyFacts serves up bite-sized nuggets of solid advice, perfect for parents who want a quick reality check. BabyFacts deserves a place on every parenting bookshelf."
Robert Needlman, M.D., coauthor of Dr Spock's Baby and Child Care, Eighth Edition

"Your child is too precious to make parenting decisions on bad information! BabyFacts separates fact from fiction."
Ari Brown, M.D., author of Baby 411 and Toddler 411

"BabyFacts stands out on the crowded parenting shelf. . . . I enthusiastically recommend BabyFacts to new and veteran parents who want to correct the many 'things you know that just aren't so.'"
Marianne Neifert, M.D., author of Dr. Mom: A Guide to Baby and Child Care

"Dr. Adesman has done a real favor for parents with his new book. . . . BabyFacts gives great advice and helpful guidance for new and old families alike."
Steven Shelov, M.D., Editor-in-Chief, American Academy of Pediatrics' Caring for Your Baby and Young Child: Birth to Age 5

The "myth/fact" format also helped to make it an easy read.

I bought this book to give to sister for her baby shower and ended up buying one for myself and everyone else I know who is having a baby!!

As a pediatrician, I initially skimmed this book out of curiosity to see if there were any pediatric myths that I innocently believed. Wow, I'm glad I did! I was surprised at how many myths even I believed were true! Reading "BabyFacts" will make me a better pediatrician, mother, and overall "advice giver." I am now recommending this book not only to my patients, but to my colleagues and friends with young children.

Baby Facts: The Truth about Your Child's Health from Newborn through Preschool

As a mother and grandmother, I totally endorse this book!! I wish that I'd had it when my children were small. Dr. Adesman addresses all the "old wives" tales and current trends in a smart, witty, crisp and humble fashion. (He even admits the myths that he and his pediatrician wife succumbed to while raising their 3 children.) He also points out when you should consult your doctor. My daughter-in-law loves this book as a mother of 2 pre-schoolers. Also, the cover is beautiful!! I will be giving this as a baby shower gift for years to come.

I bought this book to give to sister for her baby shower and ended up buying one for myself and everyone else I know who is having a baby!! The information in this book is invaluable and answers alot of questions that I wanted to ask my pediatrician but forgot/ felt foolish asking. I highly recommend buying this book for either yourself or anyone who has young children!

I really enjoyed this book. The best thing about it is that it's simple, yet very efficient and straight to the point. It is also an interesting read. The only "down" side is that it's way too short. I wish the authors would create a website or something so their readers could send questions, and than they could make a new edition.

This book was a good resource. It was a good brush up for grandma (me) and provides answersto important questions new parents will have. I particularly liked the tip about reversing the direction you place the baby in their crib periodically as they tend to turn their heads toward the door. Great info regarding temperatures, head bangs, ect. The info regarding pacifiers may be outdated, though, as some hospitals use therm in the newborn nursery.
